Gastro pub is a term frequently overused, and generally just refers to triple cooked chips and over inflated prices. This really is a gastro pub with fantastic food, a varied menu and locally sourced produce. We had a truly excellent meal at great prices, so much so we all ordered 3 courses.
This was our best meal on our two week holiday from Scotland. If I'm ever in the area again will definitely visit and recommend to others.

Great accommodation, and a wonderful Pub.
Accommodation had everything you could ask, including super comfortable beds.
Pub was lovely, sitting outside enjoying a few drinks with friendly locals. Food excellent, but menu quite small.
Overall excellent.

Fantastic pub run by and owned by the local people. Food and service excellent. I would recommend the black horse to everyone. Absolutely lovely

Lovely walking area and a treat to find this wonderful village owned costwold pub serving excellent real ale, perfectly kept. Plenty of outside seating to enjoy your 'a al fresco' drink. The pub has been extented and has a good size car park, if you continue past and a little further up the lane. Fabulous that this pub has been saved by the community. Will seem me again!

Beautiful pub tucked up the hill in a small village. Small free car park attached and very friendly staff. Great range on menu, including vegetarian options. Great visit ?

I attended a wedding here, and it was brilliant! The staff went above and beyond! Everything was sort, we had personal space to just be together. The food was absolutely amazing, if you haven?t been go, it?s in a beautiful spot and the clematis was stunning! So vibrant.

Chance drive out that The Black Horse would be open, as was on a Monday but a bank holiday?Haven't been there in years. Triples cooked chips. Lovely, lovely!
Nice community feel about the place. Look forward to going again in the near future.

Love this place! Fabulous food, beautifully presented in a simple yet cosy Cotswold stone interior. Very friendly and professional staff. Well done to the chef--we felt the food compared very well to the Woolpack and other top-notch yet relaxed pubs with excellent restaurants hiding in them ! Wish I'd taken more pics but was too busy tucking in!
