We enjoyed our evening, the food was good and the restaurant lovely. Service was also good, although a bit slow given the restaurant was not full. My partner had steak and ale pie and said it was really tasty and the meat was great. I had sirloin steak, cooked as I requested. Only thing spoiled it was the mustard which came in sachets. I'll bring my own Colemans next time.

Absolutely unreal! The food was amazing and you can tell the food is of great quality. Proper home made food which tasted amazing. The staff were also lovely and down to earth, we all felt like home as soon as we sat down. We had the mixed grill, ribeye steak which was cooked to perfection, and the chilli wraps. Lovely sticky toffee pudding and strawberry sundae to finish off. I will definitely be recommending and returning! ?

Had Sunday lunch there last week and the roasters were to die for, much better than had anywhere else, as a result went this week and roasters were more like slop. Maybe different chef but put me off going again on a Sunday...would recommend their T Bone though !

The food was actually quite nice today to be honest, but the service and the hospitality of certain waitresses was disgusting. Due to having undergone bariatric surgery, my food intake is significantly limited, and I often order smaller portion sizes to avoid both food waste and discomfort. On my recent visit, I requested a child?s meal to accommodate these medical needs. Unfortunately, I was informed that I could not order from the children?s menu because of my age, despite explaining my situation. they said I could now order from a Light bites menu and that's completely fine. but her attitude and mannerisms were disgusting, and for that reason, even though the food was nice, I would never return and I would advise anybody having bariatric surgery to do the same!

Really nice food massive plate had the lasagne with chips and salad. Staff was very polite and friendly which always is a bonus. Will definitely be visiting again.

What a great place. Bring your appetite because even the light bites are generous! Very good wide ranging menu on offer on a Saturday lunchtime and the staff had reserved an accessible table as we requested. Very friendly and definitely recommended. Thanks and we look forward to returning when back in the area.

We were recommended this place by a friend and boy it didn't disapoint , we were seated and within minutes our drinks order had been taken and the drinks arrived at table mins later, the food was delicious i had the mixed grill which was huge .The staff were brilliant and friendly and i would recommend this place to anyone

We had really lovely fish and chips and children's chicken and chips however the minute steak was overcooked and the beef and ale pie was so salty it was tricky to finish.
The staff were lovely and the place is steeped in history which was great.

recently had a meal here and was blown away with the lovely staff and how well the service was. everyone was super friendly and kind! the food was also excellent with very generous portions and overall had a lovely evening here!
