Well presented store that is a bit of an institution (100+ years and going strong). Tony was great with recommendations as well as sharing a bit of the history. This store is a must visit in Cirencester.

Great experience. Nice quality clothing with a service that was second to none. I was served by Keith. His attention to detail took me by surprise. Some shops staff can be polite but I felt the help I had choosing the items I bought went a lot further this man is a genuine lgend an old school product. I actually went back a week later to make a further purchase and asked for Keith specifically as I was so impressed with his non pushy sales service and patience as I tried on various items of clothing. If only more people were like him shopping would be a much nicer experience.

Incredibly disappointing. Upon entering with 3 friends, we all felt unbelievably judged. For context we were all young males, in the market for many of the products that R Scott & Co were selling. I was prepared to purchase multiple items I found in the store however I was interrupted by the elderly salesman who told me I wasn?t allowed to try on the item to see if it would fit unless I purchased it before hand. How I was supposed to know if it would be a good fit is beyond me. I was then told that I had to leave the item behind before heading upstairs as if I was going to steal the item. We were followed and pestered to a point where we wanted to leave. Not only is this poor business, it also made us all feel awful for being so harshly judged. We left flabbergasted and upset. Do better!!!

One of the worst experiences I?ve had in a shop. Having just visited the barbour shop where they were welcoming us before we?d even stepped inside the door, this was a complete contrast. We had walked into the shop prepared to buy multiple items where we were trying on a hat to be told that we couldn?t check if it fits unless we purchased it before hand! How does that work?! This old man continued to follow us around the bottom floor and then when we went to browse the upstairs section, he stopped my friend who was carrying the hat he intended to purchase from taking upstairs as if we were going to steal it even though it was the same shop! As we are young we felt very stereotyped despite having barbour clothing on which should be the target market! As we were coming down the stairs, the old man was waiting at the bottom and said the words ?come on down now boys?. This felt very patronising and pressuring and led us to leave the shop without purchasing the items we wanted. I hope you learn from this as you have lost potential sales from having inadequate customer services. I have read similar reviews before writing this and am disappointed that this experience is shared with multiple other customers. If you don?t want young clients that will be your market for years to come put a 60+ sign on the door! Sort it out!

Terrible customer service, followed around and judged, felt extremely uncomfortable due to their judgement of us being young.

Headed out to the snow I needed heavy duty corduroy trousers. My internet purchase (from a well known "high end" retailer) after being delayed for 2 weeks on the day I had to leave the country ultimately informed me that the pair they promised were out of stock. I don't live in Cirencester ..but was driving by the area on the way to Heathrow. Pulling over to the side of the road I did a quick search and found R.Scott & Co. I called and a very nice man told me they had exactly what I needed and that they would do all they could to help me out. 30 mins later I was in their wonderful shop. The staff was fantastic..and worked quickly to help me as they knew I was on my way to the airport. I ended up with some great socks, a pair of shoes..on sale and some sturdy cords. I will be back ...If you want a first class experience try R. Scott..we need more places like this in the world. Thank you I will be back.

Absolutely awful experience. We were looking for 7 tweed suits - a sale surely anyone who be keen to make. Not the pompous man we saw! Standing in a room of tweed jackets he said ?we don?t do tweed suits? ? not ?sorry, we only do tweed jackets, not suits?. Then went on to say they only order one of each size and style (you couldn?t order more for a specific sale?). And then TWO men stood and watched us like we were going to try and steal something. If you?re looking for a good experience pop down the room to Brook Taverner. Couldn?t be more helpful!

Truly amazing!!! Nothing was too much trouble for Simon and the team in the beautifully arranged and organised store, I also recently ordered the "Beacon Heritage Sports Jacket" that Daniel Craig wore as James Bond in 'Skyfall' (which was impossible to get anywhere else). This was done over the phone for next day delivery!!!! put simply for THE ONLY traditional English shopping experience, R Scott & Co is the best of the best!!!!!

Rather unfriendly welcome. We had come to Cirencester specifically to visit R Scott, where we?d bought before. Intention was to buy two decent hats but we were directed to the cheaper versions. When enquiring about the price of the more expensive variety we were told ?oh, very expensive? (they were cheaper than we?d remembered). It was all a bit Pretty Woman and slightly comic as we?d been happy to spend a fair bit of money but walked out only having purchased one trilby.

A disappointing experience from start to finish as apon entrance we were made to feel unwelcome and as if we did not belong here. A very rude, snobby, condescending employee proceeded to follow us around the shop, making us feel hurried and as though we should leave. I would advise anyone wanting to buy menswear to visit one of the other shops along the high-street. All of which had amazing service and better quality products. We took our business to Brook Tavernier menswear, where we had a brilliant experience and found everything we needed.

Could do better with advice on purchasing mid range outwear. Seemed more interested in lunch than service. Also if you're stocking variety and quality British clothing, (not German) make sure it's actually made here! You've no doubt seen the losses to the textile industry and covid problems closing down some business'. I did see Barbour advertised.. Be more humble grateful and and listen to the customer whenever they are. Too much arrogance in this world not of Christ. Cirencester should be different, and down to earth. Marks & Spencer legendary approach would be with emulating. Your costs warrant more expensive British stock over everyday Eastern clothing and associated Polyester.. Happy to pay more for British success over total failure and loss!!!!

Used shop on Saturday 19th Dec 2020. Great service. Needed two pairs of casual trousers and some socks. Welcomed as I entered the door. All staff wearing masks and respectful of social distancing. Served by DM. Very helpful and friendly. Good old fashioned service and would thoroughly recommend.

Dropped in today for a browse and ended up purchasing several items. Excellent service. We were looked after by Keith who was pleasant, patient and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. A very enjoyable experience.
