“Visiting for the first time on the basis of a couple of recommendations, we certainly weren't disappointed. A friendly welcome, with water served straight away as we took our table (no need to ask for it, as we seem to have to do in many places these days) and drink orders taken soon afterwards. A very nice Cotswold ale, and a reasonable range of wine available by the glass. The full wine list looked interesting but sadly I was driving so we couldn't explore it!Bread rolls were brought out before the meal, which is becoming increasingly rare these days, it seems. Both our main meals were exceptionally good; the duck breast and a rump steak Presentation, flavour, portion size, all excellent. Vegetables were included with the duck breast, which was nice to see; it's annoying when places charge extra for "sides" of what should be included in the main dish. The créme brulée was also lovely.Overall a really good way to celebrate my wife's birthday. We will definitely return!”
