First visit 3/4/25
Ordered 2nd choice as first not on.
Cheeseburger and chips, it was awful, the bun was dry and broken and over toasted, beefburger dry and overcooked, tiny spread of cheese. Lots of dehydrated chips ,no salad no presentation. Very disappointed didn't look anything like the menu picture.
On the other hand my husbands fish and chips was beautifully cooked and served.
I definitely made the wrong choice

Pubs pretty decent.
Don?t go for a Sunday Roast. 1hr 20 minutes. Cold. Just realised they charge me for something I never got.

Food just ok but it is Sunday afternoon after all. Toilets very grubby and no toilet paper in the ladies.

Food was not very nice.wasnt allowed to order until 12 so we had to wait 30 minutes, then it took 45 minutes to come.was given a broken bottle which should never have been served!and the customer service was shocking!talk about service with a smile!overpriced for what it was and decided not to have further drinks or dessert!Will definitely not be returning and would not recommend to anyone
Parking: Lucky if you can get a spot on the street

Visited on Friday lunchtime with my son, daughter and son in law. Good atmosphere and friendly staff. A fine pint of well-conditioned Marston?s Pedigree and lovely fish and chips.

Stopped here for drink lunch time when ordering drinks we asked in we could have 2 lots of chips but we're told we would have to wait 45 minutes so we did not bother

The Black Horse in Cirencester is an old style pub with a good range of drinks and staff who are keen to deliver a good service but the pub is in need of some investment and modernisation. The toilets in particular are in need of some attention. Maybe I was unlucky but when I visited the toilets were flooded and the smell was bad to say the least.. I've been on agricultural farms which smelled better. The building does have it's charm though and with a little attention to detail to improve the place it could be good.

Unfortunately not a good experience. Had fantastic reviews and a great Sunday menu online and noted to be accessible.
There?s a small step on entry to navigate with my grandfather in a wheelchair. Then a tortuous route to use the toilets. No online ordering as they said they had.
Then told they don?t do roasts anymore, then on ordering was told it?s an hour wait at 12.45.
Really subpar.
Wheelchair accessibility: Said to be accessibly but a step at the entrance and v difficult to use the toilets.

Waited three quarters of an hour for our food. Not great service. Not very warm either.

The food and drinks were served quickly, considering how busy the pub was, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. But we (and they) had problems with the table numbers. Several tables had the table number pealed off, which had my fiancé counting the tables to make sure we had the right one for the app! An issue that could easily be fixed and save potential embarrassment for customers and / or staff. Our food was good and the portions were larger than most pubs - neither of us could finish them! Haha. We even shared food between us. I did struggle to find something on the menu to suit my dietary requirements, but the allergen menu was a great asset.

Unfortunately we came in when it was quiet and they couldn't be more attentive. Came back the same day later on and if you weren't a local you got pushed to the back of the queue at the bar. Stood at the bar for a good 20 mins and some people who walked in got served immediately

A good choice of well kept ale served by friendly staff. The food was well cooked and presented. A pub I would go back too
