Recently stayed for a couple of nights with family across 3 rooms - very comfortable stay. Rooms are a little tired but warm and welcoming. Service is absolutely brilliant - great food and friendly, helpful staff. Excellent value for money and highly recommend staying here.

Food & drinks: As a family traveling from south Wales this has been a great place to stop for food, unfortunately this time the food was a great disappointment. I opted for lasagne and chips, the lasagne was dry, bland and tasteless. My brother had the sirloin and added peppercorn sauce, the steak was perfectly cooked and delicious. Sadly he refused to eat the peppercorn sauce as it not only looked awful but also tasted awful . Other members of our group were satisfied with their meals but dessert was a repeat with some complaints about under cooked desserts. Sadly I think that this will be our last visit here. A real disappointment this visit.

The pub is very nice, very good atmosphere. Spectacular breakfast in a beautiful place. Just 11 minutes from Castle Combe. The room, for its part, leaves a little to be desired in terms of cleanliness and needs a little TLC. Otherwise, all good.

Good food, quiet pub. It was a great place to stop off for lunch on the way home. Should be part of The Extra Mile club methinks.

This is my second visit to the Jolly Huntsman, the room was spacious and had all I needed for my brief stay. This time I ate there and the wild mushroom risotto with parmesan crisp was excellent just the right balance and a good portion. I was so impressed I could not resist the apple and pear crumble with cinnamon custard yum, yum.Very pleasant and the host was considerate as were the rest of the staff.I would recommend you try the pub and the food and a good place to stay nice combination of local village and wider base to explore from.

Staying in the Chippenham Premier inn we didn?t want to eat in the Brewers Fayre next door. I stay in a lot of Premier Inns on business trips around the country, it?s rare to find one of the attached Brewers Fayre restaurants to be up to much. We found The Jolly Huntsman on Google maps last night before setting off. Glad we did, it?s a great looking old pub and the landlady behind the bar was lovely. My lad has a fair few allergies and she was more than happy to check ingredients with the chef for us. Food was ace, I had the crispy turkey burger, my wife had the lasagne and they made up a kids meal for our son just as he wanted. Several happy regulars, including another young family, were also in, always the sign of a good village pub.

Still the finest pub around! Beautiful building, great range of ciders, ales and lagers and great food. A family meal with lush lasagne, chicken supreme, sea bass, scampi and the best huntsman burger. We even managed dessert with sticky toffee pudding and, in my view, the best which was a white chocolate and Baileys cheesecake. Delicious. Great work crew Huntsmen

Very pleased with our choice of this pub, friendly atmosphere and the food was excellent, served quickly and staff were very attentive on checking if our meal was ok. Would recommend the chicken and generous helping of gammon egg and chips. We both enjoyed the visit whilst staying at nearby Premier Inn as their adjoining option at the Brewers Fayre was very disappointing. Will certainly call again if next in the area.

Always good to see a cosy local pub busy on a Saturday night. Long may it
