Mid-priced excellent restaurant specialising in mouth-watering steaks. Cocktails also very good and excellent value at 7-10 quid a pop - old school strong, i.e. you can taste the alcohol (not like modern rip-off variants which seem to have about a single shot fifteen quid). Service perfectly pitched - attentive without being over bearing. Love the place - have been back many times. Check out the website for deals.

If you?re looking for a cosy vibe with excellent food and the service to match, this is the place to be. Steak and burger was incredible and Matt the manager was extremely attentive in ensuring our needs were met. I?ll be back very soon!

My boyfriend and I came to The Ox for Valentine?s Day and tried the steak and the burger?the steak was honestly the best we?ve ever had! The staff were warm and welcoming and the host Matt, made the experience even better. Cannot wait to come back again ?

Amazing food again! Our 2nd visit, when we visit Cheltenham. Wings, and ribs as starter are amazing. Marmite butter with the warm bread, must be tried as it?s delicious. Steaks were fabulous, cooked exactly as we requested. The triple cooked chips, are just that and lovely and crispy. Mushrooms and greens also tasty. Service was attentive in the best way? without being too much. The expresso martini was delicious and properly made. Loved our visit and will return. Thanks.

My partner and I came here for a date night. My third time visiting, his first and it didn?t disappoint. Staff were great, service was on point and food was delicious. Great value for money and steak was cooked perfectly. A great restaurant all round and I will be back for my 4th time.

Went here today 31/5/25 for a late lunch. When we arrived just after 2pm there was only one couple eating so very quiet. My wife had the fillet steak sandwich , and I had the Burger. Very very tasty food! This place is a hidden gem, I only found it by browsing Google maps but will definitely return.

Oh. Feels like we went to a totally different place to the one everyone else who's reviewed it went to!
Because of the good reviews we decided to go for Sunday lunch at 4.45pm on bank holiday Sunday. Food was really ordinary and the place was almost deserted! For a time we were the only diners in the room. The only saving grace was the guy serving (Benjamin?) - who got all of our annoying food allergies right, and came back to double check.
Lamb chop was a bit tough, beef was the sandwich slices you get in Tesco. The warm coconut rice pudding turned out not to be dairy free after we were told it was - which really disappointed the diner that can never have a dessert. The one that was served was in a platter the size of my head. I've never seen such a massive dessert! I'd rather have had roast potatoes filling the platter than a heavy dessert after a heavy main.
Agree with some reviewers that it's looking tired. The torn bench seat cover I sat on would have ripped my trousers if I hadn't spotted it

Came here last week and WOW is all I can say. One of the best châteaubriands I?ve had in a long time. Sam was a delight of a waiter, he told us it was first month and what an excellent job he did. We?ll be sure to come back and hopefully have Sam again!

A delightful Mother's Day Sunday lunch was enjoyed by all. The generous portions were truly appreciated, ensuring everyone left satisfied. The quality of the food was exceptional. The roast potatoes are particularly delicious, a true highlight of the meal. Warm and moist brownies provided a perfect ending. The whole decor of the venue was a very nice theme. Would definitely see it as a great steak spot for an intermate meal. Service was great, except for the small boy who could barely carry the plates to the table, very nearly dropping grayvey over my mother. Maybe it's time to feed him more steak.

I would highly recommend this restaurant to family and friends a little gem, the food was fantastic and the green pepper sauce with my steak was so good, there was a great choice of quality wines and cocktails and the staff were friendly and professional and Maisey made us feel very special on our first visit definitely worth a visit 5stars from me!

Very expensive despite 40% off before 7pm but then there is a 20% service charge. For what it was I thought it was very expensive

Best steak we?ve had for ages. The chips could just about have been enough for two actually and were really nice. The mac and cheese was brilliant. The only slight shame was the cost of the sides because we would have had some veg as well but had to draw the line somewhere. In hindsight they might have been ok to share
