Had a complete nightmare and put too much oil in my car. Rang Halfords garage in Cheltenham and spoke with Connor who said to come straight round and he would squeeze me in. He advised me to drive slowly and try not to rev the engine too much to minimize any damage. Connor was so knowledgeable and professional which really put me at ease and reassured me. I can?t thank him enough for saving my car as it was on the brink of disaster. Conner is a real asset to the business and will definitely be using Halfords in future. Thanks to the rest of the team who were reassuring in the waiting room. - Pauline ?

Over priced.
Also left 2 screws and the rubber seal off my headlight which would have caused water damage if left un noticed.

Amazing service, I dropped in with a nail in my tyre and they repaired it for me with no appointment and they only had one fitter in. Can?t recommend strongly enough ??

Never used this Garage before. Selected from the web as had a offer for the tyres (via Just Tyres) that I required and could also do the tracking necessary. Booked by phone for a 11:00am slot on Wednesday6 August 2025. The confirmation e-mail advised arriving 10 mins before the appointment time to book in etc.
Arrived at 10:45 and booked in handing over keys etc. Vehicle left standing in front car park. Sat in waiting room and contiued with my current book read.
At 12:10 the vehicle remained in the holding front carpark and had not been approched in any way. Complained to reception and told that the 11 am time was for a drop off slot only. This was not mentioned either during telephone booking nor at checkin. Workshop was pretty busy but the pace of work
seemed to be leisurely.
Eventually my vehicle was brought into works and tracking commenced with old worn front tyres still fitted. Subsequently new tyres were fitted. Eventually vehicle was released at approx1:40 pm. That is 2hr 40 min to track front wheels and fit 2 new tyres.
During my waiting time I was able to see what was happening thanks to the recently updated workshop and excellent viewing area.
The workshop inselfwas pretty full of vehicles and the front feeder parking was also full. Most of the mechanics whom I observed seemed to be spending quite significant amounts of time wandering about and / or chatting. There was little evidence of any team spirit in the workforce who gave few signs of motivation. There was little evidence of any leadership from whomsover was the responsible manager.
During my time there several other cusomers complained to the receptionist about timescales of service.
So, in conclusion, good facillities, somewhat short staffed, not very motivated and overloaded by too many bookings. My vehicle sorted satisfactorily but it really took far too long.
I will not be going back.

First run on motorway with new front tyres. Significant front vibration at 70mph. Looks like the balancing by Halfords was not up to scratch. Taken to local (not Halfords) tyre shop and re-balanced. Now ok. Thanks for all the grief Halfords - I wil take my business elsewhere.

Very poor service. Bad communication. They told they will refund the service charge within 7 working days because of miscommunication. But Last 1 month I am waiting for the amount. Every time they will say that will send request to get the refund

We visited Halfords in Cheltenham, to book our daughter?s car in for a service.The young chap, Matt in reception was extremely helpful and helped to get her car booked in, great advice and competitive pricing especially if you take advantage of the Halfords club discount. Highly recommended, another visit today and again very pleased with the service

SCAM WARNING ? AVOID THIS PLACE.
Took my car to Halfords for a simple sidelight bulb replacement after it failed an MOT (at a proper MOT-only test centre) for just:
1. One front bulb
2. A rear brake imbalance
They had my car for over 5 hours and never even called to say it was ready ? I only found out by walking in myself.
Then came the upsell scam.
I was told:
? All four brake discs and pads needed changing
? Three wheel bearings were ?worn out?
Complete nonsense ? the car had just passed every other part of its MOT the day before. They quoted me £360 just for rear pads and discs alone.
If I did all the ?necessary work? they said I needed they could?ve probably tried to get 4 figures out of me ?
I left and went 30 seconds up the road to Malvern Tyres, who quoted the same job for an awful lot cheaper and told me Halfords? diagnosis was a joke and to avoid at all costs, Plus they would be able to do it a lot sooner than Halfords.
? Don?t fall for their fake ?free brake check? or any repair quote ? it?s clearly designed to upsell work you don?t need. If I didn?t know better, I could?ve been hundreds out of pocket.
?? Go to Malvern Tyres instead ? honest, efficient, and actually know what they?re doing. Whether it?s brakes, tyres, or basic work, skip the scam and go to someone reputable. Never use the chains like Halfords unless it?s to go to their shops to get the basics and do yourself
If you?re reading this Halfords customer service , you?re an absolute joke and look at the state of all these reviews never seen so many 1 star reviews

Halfords is a trusted company. I had my interim and MOT completed and it was so easy and staffs were professional. I got the results I needed and my car in good form as it was handed to them.

My second time in years using Halfords. The first time was a bit expensive as they quoted really high although I did have an old car before. Went back again recently and the service has been brilliant. New location rather than next to Tesco so it's easy to get into the garage and they even tried to fix something that would have failed my MOT.

Rang up and had my car booked in for a diagnostic on the clutch. When I got there they then told me that they don't do clutches and the notes they had on their system didn't specify clutch diagnostic.
