Booking error on my part for Mother’s Day. Owners very helpful and got us in. The service and food were excellent and the refurbishment is really lovely. Looking forward to summer afternoons in the pub garden.

What an establishment this is. Drawn in by some outstanding social media posts, I wanted to see if the jovial behaviour between staff members was all for show or if this frivolity, prank filled madness is just how it is here. I'm very pleased to report that it's the latter.
Being on a weekend away from Glasgow, seeing a real dartboard again is a rare treat - we're not allowed them anymore because, well, Glasgow. I'm still terrible, but its nice to fling a few arrows in the company of a well behaved springer spaniel munching away on a steak pie. Dog friendly pubs are the best.
Speaking of food, the katsu loaded fries are outstanding, as was the fish- just the right level of spice in the katsu for my oversized IBS riddled gut. I regretted throwing a sherry trifle cheesecake on top of them, not because it wasn't great, it was fantastic, I'm just not built for dairy, know what I mean? I'm glad it was a hotel bathroom and not my own the next morning, let's leave it at that....
Its got a bit of everything this place, music, games, good chat and a nice drink selection. Special mention to Jordan who asked me for I.D (I'm 46) after he clocked me opening Pokemon cards - thought he was being cheeky at first but it turns out he's as much of a big kid with it as I am.
10/10 on all fronts for the Hollow Tree. Exactly what pubs should be.

Absolutely great place was a kind and friendly place. All staff were kind and friendly. Jordan was good fun while opening Pokemon packs and chatting. Food was top notch and filling.

Staff, atmosphere and food was absolutely perfect, had such a good laugh with the friendly fella called Jordan when he saw the Pikachu tattoo on my hand but honestly all staff were perfect. Would highly recommend to anyone

Popped in with the family for a quick meal would highly recommend the ultimate chicken really nice atmosphere and the rachel who brought the food was lush. Will definitely come back a different day to try another meal deal.
