Breakfast was excellent. Local ingredients, good quality coffee. Pleasant ambiance. The service was very good too. I?d recommend it.

Went in for breakfast as it was the first place we got to. I was not disappointed. Had a table by the window overlooking the water and ordered the full English. Great food, well cooked and the staff were great. Absolutely would go back.

Attempted to visit for lunch and no table for 30minutes, not a problem. Asked to book that table and was declined as not accepting bookings. Expected to stand and wait for 30minutes instead? Not exactly what I?d call good business practice. Out of principle won?t attempt to return.

Breakfast at the Croft is a sheer delight. Top notch local ingredients cooked to perfection. Complemented by excellent coffee, friendly and swift service I can?t recommend this place enough.

If you want Bourton-on-the-Water in a nutshell, this is your place. Overpriced, with a thin veneer of quality. It has all the ambience of a factory canteen, with a bit of Lovejoy ?antique? junk thrown at the walls. I?ve never seen so many tables squeezed into a space. The service was terrible, entirely staffed by glum, sullen students earning their beer money. The food was mediocre in three cases, terrible in the fourth, where the veggie burger was served at a temperature best described as refrigerated, yet somehow burnt on the outside. My son?s drink was served in the heaviest pint glass I?ve ever held. Inevitably he dropped it. We were handed a couple of paper towels and left to paddle in it for the rest of lunch. It is also, like everywhere these days, dog friendly. Which might suit you, but if you don?t like someone?s wet spaniel sniffing around your ankles when you?re eating, it might not. We left with a distinct, grubby feeling of having been ripped off.

This is a lovely place to eat in Bourton on the Water, right near the River and with outdoor tables. A little restricted on the menu, especially at very busy times like August when the world and his wife are in the village and they run out of certain things to eat and drink. Otherwise lovely staff and great food!

Terrible service. Didn't put our vegetarian sausage on either of the breakfasts and didn't tell us that there was none left until I went up and asked if they could be put on- if they had the courtesy to tell us before we could have the option to change what we ordered. Forgot to put teabag in one of our teapots, had to ask three times for milk as they forgot to bring that over and on the third time the lady serving us seemed put out that we had asked again - almost huffing, asked for salt and pepper - never got it (shock) had to go to another table and ask if we could use theirs and my friend asked for mayo and never received it. No apology and the servers was sniggering when we went up to complain about things - such a shame as it's a beautiful little town so I would stick to one of the little tea shops instead of this shambles unless you want rude servers and half of a meal.

This was a lovely place to stop off for lunch while out and about in the village. The staff were really polite and quick with service. The food was lovely and well priced.

Food was nice, service was ok.However a 10% service charge was added to the bill? without even a mention of it.I don?t recall this being stated on the menu (sorry if I missed it) and I find this a little cheeky as we normally tip off our own accord, instead of being forced too without even us realising.Editing due to owners response? ? And as is your right, you didn?t pay it ?But we did pay the service charge? (which I?m fine and at peace with on this occasion) I still have the receipt haha! anyway, the food was nice, and the place was nice and clean?therefore I?ve updated the rating slightly as a change of heart, sorry if I missed the menu that mentions the service charge.

We went for a light lunch/cake, the chips and nachos we ordered came quite quickly and they were fine, however we never received any cutlery or napkins and our plates were never cleared away once finished - we were basically just ignored after our food came - we managed to order 3 pieces of cake after trying to get anyone's attention for a while, and 20 mins later still didn't have it, we asked another waiter for the cake and 10 mins later still nothing - literally all they had to do was put the cake on a plate and serve it to us - so after half an hour of waiting we decided enough was enough and asked for the bill. That came with the cake on it, so asked for that to be taken off and pointed out that we had asked twice for it and still hadn't had it - there was literally no apology or anything -and also the 10% tip is added into the prices of everything on the menu so very sneaky - not impressed with the service, yes they were busy but that doesn't excuse the poor customer service/manners - and looking at other reviews on here they obviously don't seem to care about the customer service side of things as nothing seems to be done about it.

We were looking forward to our meal here, having been before for lunch and had good experiences. Having sat down at 7:00, had a drink, we were told that the kitchen was going to close early and we needed to order now if we wanted some food (7:30, Saturday evening). Took the decision to find somewhere else as we felt we were being rushed. Ended up going to the Sheep in Stow, which was excellent!Would have been nice to been told about the early closure prior to booking.Edit: Quite surprised by the tone of the response, an apology would have been the right way to start the reply. I would suggest that if your attitude towards customer service was better you may be busy on a Saturday night (like every other restaurant in town).

Stopped off for a drink, table service only with no bar? a bit frustrating having to wait but waitress was friendly enough.
