The gearbox of our top of the range Countax failed after 114 hours use. We bought it new from Dean Mowers but they offered no discount on its replacement. Their excuse- it wasn?t serviced by them since we bought it. But there was no service indicated for the gearbox! They said they?d talk to the rep about the cost but they never did. They told us they weren?t busy when they took it in but took a week to even look at it. Then they took 4 more weeks to get the part in. They didn?t ring to update when they said they would. They seemed hopeless at even finding out from Countax when the replacement gearbox would arrive. In the end the repair cost over £1000 and when they returned the mower they hadn?t bothered to even clean the machine and they forgot to put the grass sweeper on so we had to have another visit for that. Communication was very poor throughout and overall they just seemed badly organised. I?d never use them again.Just to finish this, when they returned the mower the hydraulic fluid had not been filled with enough oil (according to the owners manual). They came to see it and Scott, the shop manager, insisted that the owners manual was ?generic? (it wasn?t) and said he didn?t know where I got it from (from him when I bought the mower of course). He offered to fill it up to where I wanted and I asked him to fill it according to the owners manual, eventually he conceded to do so but then warned me that the container top might blow off when used.Today, after using the mower for an hour the new gearbox was not working properly. To be fair to Scott, he was genuinely concerned and is offering to come on Monday to inspect it.

After a poor experience from a lawnmower supplier at Coleford. I decided to try Dean Mowers to purchase a ride on for my father. They were excellent with a great choice of machines, very knowledgeable and at a very good price. Purchased a second hand cubcadet, it came fully serviced and promptly delivered. Highly recommended.

I really recommend this shop if you want a lawn mower or associated garden equipment. The staff are extremely knowledgeable, the range of makes and models is large, and the prices are very competitive. You can't go wrong.
