Incredibly attentive from initial contact, with reassurance for several guests with allergies.
The menu was seasonal, varied and exciting. The food did not disappoint, it was delicious. I look forward to visiting again.

On a warm summer evening we finally made it to Fostons Ash Inn and so glad we did. Excellent food and particularly enjoyed the ?Leeks and Welsh mussels on sourdough bread?. Great to see this old pub brought back to life.

Great service and creative menu. Parfait and Brioche starter followed by beef rump, perfectly rare. Argentinian Malbec by the glass was excellent. No space left for dessert but would have gone for the affogato.

Serving great food and excellently well kept real ales. This is an old costwold pub with a large garden at the rear. Super helpful and friendly staff. Not to busy for a Saturday evening, so a pleasure to spend the evening here with family. This is my second visit this year after many years, so great to see the pub has a new lease of life! I'll be back!

Fostons hosted a memorial wake for 80-90 people this weekend. They did an elite sandwich spread and delicious large and small canapes. Service was phenomenal. Great communications throughout the process as well. Would trust them with events. Also managed some dietary restrictions brilliantly. 10 out of 10.

Great staff and food. Experience spoiled by companies total lack of flexibility. Asked for bread to complement my lovely crab salad starter. No bread available other than rye bread, part of another starter. I requested just bread and ate less than 2 small slices.
Very surprised to be charged £5, in addition to the £13 starter. When I complained, was told that there was no-lee-way, company policy and to ?pay?.
Rather than have unpleasantness, I paid the full amount of £105.19, for two. I left feeling unhappy with my treatment over such intransigence, totally spoiling the experience, over such a small matter.

We wanted a spot of lunch and fortuitously drove past this Inn.
It was quiet on a Friday lunchtime - about 1345 when we stopped by.
My wife's enjoy a 2 course set menu and I enjoyed a burger and chips. Wow! The chef here is to be complimented. Fantastic food. My burger was so juicy and the real so filling.
The lady at the bar was so friendly and warm and great with recommendations too.
Total bill incl. service was £45 but worth every penny.

19/04/2025:- First impressions very good. Reserved a table for lunch in the bar area which was filling up with punters when we arrived towards 1 o'clock. I advise booking in advance. Didn't notice anywhere for someone to sit if they just wanted a drink which is often a problem when a pub becomes known for its cuisine. The food was delicious, restaurant standard. The service was good except for one server who, in her haste, spilt alittle of our 2nd round of drinks onto the table and made no attempt to return to wipe up. So an ordinary pub after all in some respects! ? But important here as they put 12.5% service charge onto the bill. There's a nice garden at the rear that you walk thru' from the carpark to the pub's entrance. They were hosting a choc egg hunt for people of all ages on Easter Sunday! ? All in all we had a great meal and would definitely go again.

We popped in for the first time after a hike and were pleasantly surprised by such a refined lunch ? far from your standard pub fare. The crispy lasagne croquettes, the squid ink gnocchi with finely chopped squid, and the beautifully cooked hake made for a really unique and delicious meal, not something you often come across in this area. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed it. You?d never guess from the front of the pub that there?s such a lovely garden out the back ? the atmosphere was great, and we?re so glad we stopped by.

A warm, welcoming pub which perfectly balances a cosy atmosphere with delicious food. The chorizo scotch eggs were especially delicious, as well as the dish with the courgette flowers - would highly recommend.
