Big pub for a small village. Oddly spread car park that backs directly onto homes. Beer is really good. Food ordered and served really quickly and the gent serving was the epitomy of politeness. Not the cheapest panini and chips I've ever eaten and only just not the most expensive (I had a similar lunch in Covent Garden last week for just 3 quid more). Nice atmosphere but it was nicely sunny and everyone was ramping up for the weekend getting some early beers in. Bit off the beaten track but worth a drive if you want a decent country pub.

The service is amazing and the steaks are perfect. The Hunter's chicken and afternoon tea are also very enjoyable.

Good in the past but very disappointing this time- shortage of staff , new chef??- long wait and tough meat (rumpsteak) BUT: to make up for it, we we were offered one dessert on the house..

Friendly atmosphere, very accommodating - dogs very welcome in the bar.
Tasty food with a creative menu - new landlords have made such a difference, with live music, quiz night, curry night, ideas to support charities and lovely ideas to include children. Great play area too.

Most of the staff were congenial and very helpful. The locals in the bar were lovely too. I was disappointed by my midweek special £15 - Cauliflower cheese topped with bacon, arrived without the bacon. Duly returned and rectified thanks, but later realised hardly any cheese was in the sauce, yuk. An overpriced and tasteless Special, not so. I did complain about the lack of cheese which wasn't actioned by our waiter. Such a shame. This used to be a place I really looked forward to visiting for a meal. I'm really disappointed.

Great lunch out at The Salmon inn. I booked over the phone and the landlady was so charming, as she was when we were warmly welcomed into the restaurant. A great menu and Lesley had the steak burger and I had a delicious Stilton and cheddar ploughman's. After that we had Key Lime pie and sticky toffee pudding and we had been served by 2 excellent waitresses, 1 was on her first day.
Altogether a superb experience, wonderful host, exceptional food and we will be back.
A must if you are in the area ????

Had a delicious roast beef Sunday lunch here a week ago. A real treat! The food was lovely and hot and very tasty.
Under new management. Staff and hosts made us feel very welcomed. Lovely green area with outdoor seating and play equipment for younger ones. Special guest appearance by Queenie when we were there. Highly recommended.
