Appalling service and very poor communication. They failed to vet my tenants properly and produced a legally flawed tenancy agreement. They refused to account for the protected tenancy deposit, which simply disappeared. Adequate rent collection service but even this was erratic. Every other aspect of their service was dismal. You should avoid HOST if you have any other option, and definitely use your own solicitor if you are foolish enough to engage them. I can only endorse the many other negative reviews, and would award no stars if possible. STAY AWAY!!!

Moved out of my property with Host Property yesterday after cleaning my flat with my parents and they are now trying to charge me for a cleaning invoice. In the process of this we will now be taking legal action against them.EDIT: After receiving a request from Host Property Ltd to update on the outcome of this dispute nearly 8 months after moving out of their flat, I will gladly publicly declare the outcome here.After a back-and-forth over emails - which included my posting of warnings on social media to potential tenants considering using this company and Host Property Ltd sending me a threatening letter to remove these posts or they would contact the police - I discovered that Host Property Ltd had failed to notify me that my initial deposit was being held within a government-approved Tenancy Deposit Scheme (TDS). This is a serious offence under UK law. They were able to confirm this, however not within the first 30-day period of my tenancy that they were required to. In fact, it was after my tenancy had ended with them.In order to move on with my life and avoid any further communication with Host Property Ltd (which has clearly failed, considering their reply to this review so long after I requested an end of communication with them) we agreed to split the cost of the final cleaning of the property.In my personal opinion, even if you are one of the many people in Southend who desperately need a place to live, I would avoid using this lettings agent at all costs. I feel, in my personal experience, that they took advantage of my vulnerable position as a victim of domestic violence during the pandemic in order to make money and failed to fulfil parts of their duties outlined in the tenancy agreement.I wish to never hear from Host Property Ltd again, as I will consider it harassment, and I will be in contact with a solicitor.

Good hard working buisness. They have always been contactable and have helped us with vile tenants and trouble makers over the years. It?s sad really as the minority of bad tenants ruin it for good people.Most of the poor reviews are likely from the minority.Thank you Host.

Absolutely atrocious service and behaviour. As a student searching for a house for second year with a group of friends, I was appalled by this company's lack of professionalism and hideous behaviour. One of my friends had been in contact with one of their agents for several weeks. They had difficulty getting a response from the agent about the two houses that we were interested in. It was only recently that we found out, that those two places we had been sold to other people, without our knowledge. It was a total lack of communication from their part. I am disgusted how a business like this one can remain in business when their service and care is horrendous and dreadful. Word of advice to students looking for a house, do not use this company.

We were looking to rent a property and found the perfect place through Host.Their service from the start was honest, real and professional. Mark and his team are both really friendly and very efficient. I contacted Host about two student lets in January, despite the two hour response time they promise, it actually took days, so I rang them, was told I needed to see pictures, and they would send me an email. I wait a few more days. No email. I have been ringing, emailing and leaving voicemails every day for several weeks and got absolutely nowhere, and it was in fact somebody else that told me there was no properties, not the company I have been trying to get in contact with for weeks!!! Awful customer service, disorganised, no communication. Nothing. They have spent so long messing myself and my friends that we do not have a house for next year.

Did not get as far as renting as the reception I got when I walked through the door was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Basic manners were lacking, absolutely unprofessional.Cannot actually believe that their business survives. I offered feed back as i would very much like to know if I could improve my business especially if I was failing at the basics , the reaction I received made me realise that the best thing to do was leave.Why would you rent with a company that cannot be bothered to acknowledge your presence in their shop. ???

Host were recommended by a friend and l can honestly say l had 8 years good service.I used Host property ltd for my new build apartment in Purfleet, after my previous letting agent (of 3 years) left me with a non paying bad tenant and expensive repairs to my flat plus the added hassle of court costs to evict them.I was based in the North of England so wanted a reliable letting agent in the Essex area, l was struggling as the houseing market had crashed (2008) and my apartment was in a mess, the owners viewed my property and arranged for a team to clear the mess, repair and decorate the flat.Host found me decent long term tenants and l was able to be hands off again slowly recovering my money spent as their advice and knowledge in property lettings was invaluable keeping me informed of any problems or changes to the current law a long distant landlord needed to know.I can only review on my experience of this company which was from my point of view 'excellent' from the helpfull office girls to the professional owners sorting out my nightmare - Thanks Mark - would and have recommended you to others.Property now sold.
