Went there today for lunch with some friends, we all ordered different items some had the fish meals others the homemade pie and all were very impressed by the quality of the food and the size of the portions and each meal was served hot , a rarity today, service was also very good . Will definitely go back again

The Thatchers Arms is a typical country pub with a great atmosphere, attentive staff and typically rustic inside.
I went there recently for a meal with a family member. We ordered a couple drinks and then ordered lunch.
After 30 lunch finally arrived. Unfortunately, it was tepid verging on cold. I took one bite of a roast potato , cold; peas, cold and the chicken pie was barely warm. I took it to the bar and informed them of the situation. After a very brief conversation (because I was clearly getting frustrated and becoming annoyed) they said they would replace it. Less than 10 minutes later a piping hot meal.
The other meal, skate was hot but the veggies were luke warm. My family member said they couldn't be bothered and didn't eat the veggies.
I had expected better, probably won't go back again - disappointing.

Food was good. Felt like you were hurried as a member of our party was late & we only had a 2 hour window on the table.
Staff were good.

We were going to sit outside with our dog but was bit chilly we were allowed to sit inside.The ladies serving were lovely the food was excellent! Big plates of food. Excellent value for the money!

Just back from lunch with my friend..first time at the at The Thatchers and what a great lunch it was .. we both had the pies my friend had steak and ale and I had the chicken and mushroom..2 enormous servings of great pies with so much meat in both and lots of veggies..so much foodxwe coukdnt eat it all..lovely girls who served us too thank you so much will definitely come again and spread the word..

Beautiful Sunday lunch as always, staff friendly and attentive. Food is traditional home cooked great quality from the owners own farm. Price is fair for the quality, a little more meat would be nice but I respect the high quality of this could make it not possible.
