Such annoyed and bored staff, and it's not even 11 o'clock yet. They're slamming the trays and rolling their eyes at everything. Horrible.

A lovely cream tea venue, with a terrific shop, selling all the wares they have to offer.
Staff are attentive and friendly, with a choice of other food and drink, too.
A worthy visit and something to put on your 'to-do' list, if you're in the locale.

What a wonderful experience at the Tiptree Tea Room, definitely worth a visit. We had the afternoon tea, which was delicious and very filling. You choose your sandwiches, so we opted for an egg mayonnaise and a sausage & cheese Toastie. The scones were warm, served with cream and Tiptree strawberry jam. We also enjoyed the mini cakes, the carrot cake and bakewell tart were particularly tasty. Although it was slightly busy, we didn't have to wait long for a table and the staff were all friendly and helpful.

We just happened to be passing while out and about and were so glad we saw it. We love their products at home, so trying them here felt like a treat. We'd always hoped to come especially to sample the cream tea here. Happy to say, it was perfectly done, the Secret Garden seating delightful, and prices very fair. The gift shop is excellent and there?s plenty of free parking.
That said, the service is functional but very matter-of-fact. Efficient, but lacking a bit of warmth or flair. For those visiting from afar or celebrating a special occasion, this could impact the overall experience. A touch more finesse from the team would elevate an already great visit.
Overall, we?d happily return to try more from the menu and explore the museum. Worth a stop if you?re in Tiptree.

Ugh!!! So disappointed!!
Egg mayonnaise sandwich was disappointing. Bread wasn't fresh, egg and mayo barely mixed, side salad was brown. Scones were not fresh. Cream cheese and clotted cream were tasteless, and tea was weak - one more tea bag is all that was needed. Very politely asvised the cashier of the shortcomings and she just handed me the credit card machine with no comment. NO TIP A

Not the best experience this time. Although short staffed, the staff did not acknowledge us for a long time whilst we stood waiting for a table. We eventually joined the paying queue and asked for a table. We waited an age for our food to arrive, which is fine when they're busy but no-one communicated to us at any point. Would return as usually have a nice experience.

Myself and a friend went yesterday, lovely location and view, food was ok absolutely nothing special, and honestly the service was very poor... One of the women could have actually curdled milk her expression was so sour, as a waitress she is most definitely in the wrong job... Vinegar lips came to mind.. wouldn't go again..

Did not use tearoom, but the museum & shop are good.
This time around, we used the tea room & the food was delicious.
