Such a beautiful church with so much history. Amazing stained glass window above the altar. Beautiful organ right by the pews so you can't help but sing your heart out. Grounds kept well, by a group of volunteers I believe, but the paths could do with some attention (warning signs are in place)

I have my mum dad and son buried there. I was christened and married there. It is a beautiful old church with loads of character.

Nice church and the reverend pastor was very funny which made the whole service interesting. Visited the church as a friend's grandchild was being baptised. I live in South West London but if I did live in the area that's the church I'd certainly like to attend and be part of the congregation ?

Never been in the actual church, but I do get some smashing photos of some aircraft.

In 2001 this church was in the way of the expansion to London Southend Airport and moving the church intact was proposed! However after having been granted Grade I listed building status in 2002 by English Heritage plans were revised! In 2011 expansion continued with the runway having been realigned to preserve the church. The earliest known record of this church is is 1100 AD when Robert of Essex, the founder of Prittlewell Priory, granted to the Priory the Church of Prittlewell and the Chapels of Eastwood and Sutton. The Nave is thought to be the original Norman church as it dates from the 12th century. The Chancel windows date from the 13th & 14th century. The late 12th century Norman font with its circular bowl, ornamented with interlacing arcading around the drum, is considered to be one of the best examples of a late Norman or Early English font in Essex. The church is open to view on Tuesdays from 9:30 till 11:30 and well worth a visit.
