Someone in my branch will generally be available to support me to understand accounts, the whys and wherefores on interest rates to help my savings grow or the workings of the online app to make changes. If not, I can make an appointment or a phone call.
They are lower on staffing in recent years and there are fewer branches but that?s across all banks now. I?ve found them to be a good bank and I?ve stayed with them for many years. Thanks Santander Southend on sea

AWFUL bank. Been waiting almost a year to sort out my Dad?s account, didn?t realise because of this bank things are harder to do. Do Santander think my Dads money will go to them? Crazy branch and awful bank. Avoid.

Don?t know why all the bad reviews. They?re a bank branch, not the bank itself. They?re open at the times they say and the staff are helpful and polite.

Terrible wait times in this place. 1 person behind the desk. Joined at 10 people in the queue and still waiting after 45 minutes. Now 4th in the queue. Disgrace

Apparently everyone banks online hence the reduced opening hours. This does not seem to be reflected by the enormous queues and the amount of time that you have to stand in them. That said if you have not died by the time you get to the desk, the staff are polite and pleasant.

Popped in around 1pm with the whiff to check if an old Abbey National ISA was still active. There were no staff to be seen. The counters are now hidden behind a wall and of the 4 or 5 teller spaces available, only 2 were filled. The queue was 8 deep and after 15 minutes, we hadn't moved.Two staff appeared from offices. Looked at me and scurried away. We left.This was a useful reminder as to why my whiff no longer banks at Santander.
