I like this place. Unassuming and reasonably-priced with great cakes and lunch options and the full range of drinks you would expect. Staff are charming and attentive.

We often have a stroll in Southend High Street then stop for a drink, a snack or a cake. Muffin Break serves super fresh food, delicious spinach and cheese quiche, savour croissants, rolls. And the chocolate brownie is fabulous. Prices are good, lower then Costa for example, and with a wider food range.

Had to give it 1 star to start my review, as I wouldn't give it a star. Called to see if it was dog friendly and was told it was, as wanted to check as website said it was. Arrived there with a friend and 1 dog as was told no dogs allowed, only outside. Went outside to seating area where was greeted by loads of cigarette smoke, as a none smoker I thought was wrong to expect just cause had dog that was what I had too put up with. Looked at the floor and was cigarette butt's, ash and rubbish, why is that acceptable for a dog to lay amongst that.
Ended up going to molo lounge where my dog was made very welcome inside, greeted dog with water and biscuits

Ordered an iced latte and carrot cake. The carrot cake was stale so I asked for another piece. The second piece was also stale and dry. I was to embarrassed to return it again. Coffee was lovely.

The staff is always attentive and polite and the food always satisfies. Make an effort to come round a few times a month for a reset.

Advertised bacon sandwiches and you get heated up ham. Toastie comes on some weird seeded brown bread, the order was a regular cheese and tomato toastie. Both inedible

Good sized breakfast nicely cooked. At the more expensive end of the cafe price range but open early and food as good as it gets for a cafe breakfast.
