Whether it?s finding a product or needing help with something in-store, there?s always someone nearby ready to assist with a smile. The team works efficiently, but they never make you feel rushed. It?s clear they care about customer service, which really makes a difference.

The change in this place over the last 1-2 years is remarkable. It looks and feels like a quality supermarket and you can see the efforts being made to make the most of the goods on offer - neat, tidy, available - despite the old and probably awkward building. Nice shop.

Of the six tills, sometimes only one works, and you have to stand in line for a long time.

Used to be my favourite Lidl in Southend on sea , for all your fresh vegetables and affordable priced groceries. But many times I see the rack empty, maybe it's was the the times of my visit. But the other stores in Southend are doing better in customer visit experience. Good car parking and many other chain stores next to the Greyhound retail park Lidl

3 to 4 years ago used to be great but has now become in my opinion a factory floor, pallets, rubbish, boxes etc all over the place. Staff don't seem interested in you only mucking about between themselves. A big slobby security guard who seems to think he's special forces doesn't follow you, he is right behind you everywhere you go, he might as well sit in the kiddy seat in trolley and then you can take him around with you. I'm now 79 years old not frail or anything so he doesn't scare me, but some he could at my age. Browsing for me there is a no no, so it's in and out forgetting half of what you wanted. But aside of that, credit where it's due, the food and prices are very good. It's such a shame for me, because my late wife and I would shop no where else. Oh how I wish I was 40 years younger, I would let security there know what special forces was
