Very unhelpful at Southend. I enquired about purchasing replacement varifocal lenses. The worker asked the manager and I was told ?No? without any explanation. The worker I saw was not even logged on when I arrived at the store.
They want to get customers to spend as much as possible. Do not waste your money there.

Been a contact lense subscriber here since before it was boots, this year they halved my number of monthly lenses but kept the monthly payments the same, doubling the price of my lenses and leaving me short on pairs. Wasn't informed of this change and they are refusing to send more lenses or return my money. Very underhand tactics and has caused me months of stress trying to get someone to listen to me. Lost £105 that I will never get back, £17.50 for one pair of lenses is a joke. Take your business elsewhere like I will be, no consideration for a long term customer. Absolute disgrace, never been treated with such disdain in my life.
Update: after this review I received my contact lenses within two weeks, amazing after months of fighting customer service all it took was to make the attempted theft public and they were desperate to please me all of a sudden. What a sad world we live in where perception is more important than what is right. No apology or compensation though!!

I was referred to Southend Hospital after failing one of the tests, and not even given a prescription, pending the result of the hospital appointment which might not be for up until 13 weeks. That means I can't have new glasses until I've been to the hospital.

I am very loyal to Boots Opticians. The reason is simple, ALL members of staff are so incredibly helpful and friendly. Am chuffed to bits with my choices of new glasses and sunglasses.

Excellent opticians with a nice selection of glasses and friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff.
We had to go back here the other day as my daughter had broken her new glasses that we had purchased from here a couple of months ago. The staff could not have been more helpful and Hayley said they could fix her glasses for her. When I asked how long they would take to be mended, I expected the answer to be at least a week, as the glasses had completely snapped in one place. I was surprised when Hayley said it would take about 10 minutes. This was a lie though as it only took her about 5 minutes, and we left the shop very happy. I have been telling everyone to use this opticions since we came here a couple of months ago.

I visited Boots Opticians on Saturday and was helped by Laura, who was absolutely wonderful. I was in a bit of a hurry as I was due to be going away on holiday as my glasses broke, but she took the extra time to repair my glasses properly and make sure they were completely secure before I left. She was kind, professional, and genuinely caring throughout the whole process. It?s rare to come across such thoughtful service, and I left feeling very grateful. Thank you, Laura, for going above and beyond!
