“We have just had the loveliest Sunday lunch at The Rose Inn. We are new to the area and drove past the pub as we were exploring our new town and thought we would stop for something to eat. The pub is really lovely but it was the warm welcome that really made us realise we chose the right place. We were made to feel at ease and instantly felt relaxed, we ordered drinks followed by our meals. The ordering process was simple and nothing seemed too much trouble, even when I asked a couple of questions to help me with my choice. Before we knew it the food was presented to us and everything was perfect. We were checked upon to make sure everything was ok which I appreciated and we thoroughly enjoyed our food. We were even bid a friendly farewell which I wasn’t expecting as it was getting quite busy at this point but we never once felt rushed or hurried. Now, I’m not one for online reviews but I wanted to share our thoughts on this visit as we were so happy and will be back next week!”

“Great mini Tesco shop attached to a BP garage. It is literally a minute's walk from Southend East train station, so ver convenient for commuters to pick up shopping on the way home from work. They have a range of frozen and chilled meals plus fresh fruit, veg and bread as well as plenty of other basic items. The prices instore and for petrol are usually veyr good and they often have offers on sweets, crisps and other products.”

“Regularly use to top up my fuel but also for a bit of shopping. Had a question about one of my products, I actually spoke to the general manager there who was so helpful, he really went out of his way to get an answer for me. Would highly recommend for anyone to use.”

“Someone in my branch will generally be available to support me to understand accounts, the whys and wherefores on interest rates to help my savings grow or the workings of the online app to make changes. If not, I can make an appointment or a phone call.
They are lower on staffing in recent years and there are fewer branches but that’s across all banks now. I’ve found them to be a good bank and I’ve stayed with them for many years. Thanks Santander Southend on sea”

“Today I had a problem, a very very serious problem with my bank, I went to them and they sorted out the problem, friendliest staff ever. I felt so happy afterwards because the problem got fixed.”
“I had some fantastic service from someone on the shop floor whom I cannot remember their name, and Jacqui (Kershaw?) at customer services that needs to be highlighted.
I live overseas and when I was back in the UK visited my local Asda for Yorkshire tea amongst other things. Unfortunately, the tea was out of stock but the helpful guy advised me on the next delivery time and pointed me in the way of customer services whom he said would hold a box back for me. I did as suggested and Jacqui took a note of my name and number. She then called me on the day of arrival and I picked it up the next day. She was not working that day so I missed an opportunity to thank her personally but want her to be recognised here. Thank you Jacqui and the shop floor assistant! You can take the man out of England, but not the England out of the man! Fantastic service!”
