We have just had the loveliest Sunday lunch at The Rose Inn. We are new to the area and drove past the pub as we were exploring our new town and thought we would stop for something to eat. The pub is really lovely but it was the warm welcome that really made us realise we chose the right place. We were made to feel at ease and instantly felt relaxed, we ordered drinks followed by our meals. The ordering process was simple and nothing seemed too much trouble, even when I asked a couple of questions to help me with my choice. Before we knew it the food was presented to us and everything was perfect. We were checked upon to make sure everything was ok which I appreciated and we thoroughly enjoyed our food. We were even bid a friendly farewell which I wasn?t expecting as it was getting quite busy at this point but we never once felt rushed or hurried. Now, I?m not one for online reviews but I wanted to share our thoughts on this visit as we were so happy and will be back next week!

I go to the quiz night one a month and absolutely love it. Started off weekly but friends moved out of the area so have a new team. It's really good fun and would highly recommend

My wife and I arrived for Chritmas lunch booked for 15.00 on Christmas day. We arrived in good time but surprised to see many tables still occupied. We were able to be seated at 15.00 along with many others for the 3.00 seating. We waited an inordinate amount of time for the starter which at best was abysmal, salmon on a slice of beetroot. Following a request for our meals and after a further 45 minute wait we received the main treat! Turkey roast. No apologies for the delay and no explanation as to why. This meal was the worst we had ever tasted. They were cold and the turkey appeared to have been steamed, being watery and insipid. The desert arrived after a further 30 minutes and though not good was the best part of the meal. We decided enough was enough and paid the bill and left. No pleasantries or apologies. I would never recomend this pub to anyone. The management were never to be seen yet the poor girls who waited on us did their best and the experience we had was not their fault. I understand that their were issues with staff etc. but if they could not supply a worthwhile experience to their customers, especially on Christmas day they should not have bothered

Went with my friend for lunch just before Christmas. Food portions were very poor. My friend had fish and chips. Fish was very small.

Having read the previous reviews I feel I need to put the record straight we arrived at twelve to enjoyable starters when served our mains they were the worse I have ever seen or tried to eat, we discussed this with the staff who spoke to the manager, he was unhelpful and in the end quite rude and dismissive we paid for our staters and left at no time did any of our party swear and only one child is actually old enough to talk we did explain that we to had suffered a bereavement which he was dissmissive about We did complain to Greene king and had the money refunded and have since booked a meal at another place who had also heard of the

We enjoyed a perfectly decent Christmas Dinner at the Rose Inn. The staff were attentive and tried their best under the trying circumstances. The team had recently suffered a terrible bereavement and still came in to cook and serve diners. They had also had a medical emergency earlier that day and still tried a brave face on it for all concerned. And yet there were still some appallingly rude and nasty people who either left without paying or were deliberately complaining to avoid paying. We sat opposite a very large table who complained to avoid paying and then loudly discussed how they were all going to write and complain further to try and get vouchers on future meals. The same family?s children also swore at the waitress. Children, swearing! This means that not only the company loses money but the pub lost money and the serving staff too who rely on tips to make a few quid over Christmas. Appalling behaviour and demonstration of the nasty side of people that directly impacts a pub and staff who are working on Christmas Day! Anyway, we enjoyed our meal and a bit of light banter with the pleasant team and (most) of the diners around us. Keep up the good work at the Rose Inn

Just returned from our Christmas Dinner at the Rose Inn and I felt I needed to leave this review today. Literally cannot believe how rude some of the diners were in this pub today. A large table near us could be overheard saying after eating their starters that they were just going to just walk out without paying and complain to head office so they could get free vouchers! The kids were being rude to the waitresses absolutely disgusting behaviour and they weren't the only people that were clearly there for a FREE meal another table eating most of their dinner and composing the food was awful refusing to pay ! How those poor staff that had to work today instead of being at home with their family?s must now feel is disgusting and if you read this and we?re one of those diners SHAME ON YOU .. The food today was lovely was served hot and we had a lovely meal just a shame that tables of ungrateful selfish people around us had to spoil the whole atmosphere of Christmas Day for the other diners there !! Thank you team Rose Inn you did your best under what was clearly an awful situation.

What a night we had last night at the Rose Inn we arrived at 6:30pm as a family of four for a meal after a long day at work. They had advertised it as the pubs first ever Karaoke night and OMG what a fantastic time we had. Steve who normally runs the pubs Quiz night on a Tuesday was running it with the help of another staff member and I have to say they did a fantastic job. Everyone got into the spirit of things people were so friendly we laughed the whole night and that?s what I love about this pub it?s like one big family people are so friendly and welcoming . We planned to only stay for an hour or so but ended up staying until closing. I have to give a shout out to Rob the new manage for bringing in this new idea to the pub he even joined in and wow he?s got a serious set of lungs !..I see a few negative reviews about this pub recently and I honestly don?t understand why people feel the need to constantly pick holes in things. The team at this Pub are fantastic they work really hard and the effort they put in to ensure their customers have a good time is above and beyond what I?m sure they are actually paid to do.. It?s Christmas they work their socks off and don?t all get time off to spend with their families.. Next time you feel the need to moan because you may of been waiting a while for your food or because you didn?t feel your Yorkshire pudding was up to scratch give a thought to how hard these people work over the festive period and come to the next Karaoke night you?ll soon forget about your Yorkshire puds .. Well done Team Rose Inn we love you Happy Christmas and when?s the next one !?

very pleasant pub with plenty of room. one of our party is a wheelchair user and we had no trouble manoeuvring around the establishment. our food arrived promptly and hot. we were very impressed with our food and all of us enjoyed it. our puddings were scrumptious and the staff were friendly and polite. definitely will be back.

Christmas dinner mid week beginning of December. Group of 7 friends . The food was ok for the 19:99 for 3 course Xmas dinner. We had a replacement chef , which didn?t really mean much as you expect the food to be the same . The Christmas dinner and vegetarian dinner . tasted like aunt Bessie?s roast potatoes frozen (2 small potatoes and 2 kind of skins of potatoes) . A stuffing ball ( definitely aren?t bases ) a pig in blankets. Website to check your Christmas party very poor and not much help to log in . won?t be booking here next year.
