Lovely meal, and excellent service. Our waitress was very friendly and served us with a smile. Only negative was I found drinks to be very expensive.

A birthday meal celebration for a family member. We basically had the whole restaurant to ourselves. Good service, happy and friendly. Good food, too. A wonderful, cozy environment with a separate place with high backed leather chairs and open fire. So nice to go out and not have to listen to a TV blaring out football games.

Always love coming here but was really disappointed by our last visit! Half the food was cold and half was undercooked! Very slow service when there was hardly anyone in the restaurant, shame as we normally love coming!

By far the best spot in Rochford. Ended up here after a good 2 hours or so finding a nice place to eat and I am so happy we did. The food was absolutely delicious, decor and general vibe was really nice and their dog friendly with treats and water bowls. Will be coming back again and again. Cannot fault it. The staff were super welcoming and very hospitable.

Great service but we found the menu very basic. The team were very welcoming but surprised to find the restaurant empty considering it was Christmas weekend. We will not be returning.

23/12/23 First visit in a while due to 'life'. Great food, personable service, friendly hospitality. The perfect balance of being left alone to socialise and being checked on for drinks top ups and orders to be taken. Food was piping hot, flavoursome and fresh. Service was great, group of 6. Booking online was seamless and adjustments to the booking handled punctually after 2 of our party could no longer make it. Being Christmas, an extra special touch for our 2 and 7 year old girls - a little present at the end to open was given to them by the manager. Good value for quality food. Thoroughly recommend a visit. We will be back again. Thanks for a great occasion.

Excellent location for us as a couple along with the dog. Really clean and convenient to visit family in Southend. Great local fields to walk the dog. Very happy with the cleanliness of the room. Thank you very much.

I think most in the party of 10 enjoyed your meal but i had thr roast beef which was hard to cut & a bit chewy. Its also a shame that we felt rushed as our table was for only 2 hrs. We would of had another drink & coffee & enjoyed seeing the family for longer

Fantastic food and service and free charging of the car too. I found this pub from the ev charger sites so I can?t ask for more.

Absolutely amazing food!!! We come here often and the food is always on point! The staff are very friendly and are always there when you need anything. The atmosphere is cosy, welcoming and very friendly. I would highly recommend this lovely dog friendly pub rain or shine. See you soon ?

The place is warm spacious and welcoming. Service is good. Menu varied. Food hot , freshly cooked and well presented. Having small appetites we enjoyed the small plate menu. The steak was delicious succulent and perfectly medium rare. Ham egg and chips had adequate portion, ham was thick moist and tasty. Dessert was a little disappointing, £8 for an Eton mess is acceptable, but only one strawberry,halved with one at the top and remainder at the bottom is a rip off. Cappuccino was good, shame no herbal or fruit teas or decaff option.

Staff always very very helpful and polite. Good food and a very relaxed and friendly environment, outstandingly clean place to visit
