Great bank only let down by the stupid card reader that does nothing but cause grief when you want to move money. Will give 5 stars if you remove the dumb card reader from my account.

Have held an account with this branch for a number of years and the staff in branch are always helpful. Not so when I had occasion to ring the branch the other day. My query was not handled very well and I did bring this to Nationwide's attention online but all they did was thank me for bringing it to their attention! So if you've got a query, best to go in branch.

After looking at reviews on other building societies & banks in the area, nationwide seem to be the best. I do use this branch & there generally very good & helpful. Now go & look at every Natwest review in the southend & surrounding areas.

Situated at the top end of the High Street towards Rayleigh Church. Very handy for shopping in Rayleigh when you need a bit of cash UNLESS it's a Saturday when for no apparent reason the whole of Essex seems to descend and the queues are astronomical- so avoid at all costs!
