A friends daughter wanted to pay with her own pocket money but was told they don't accept change!!! Since when..... disgraceful attitude, your not too big to be shut down for treating your customers, of whatever age, with disrespect. Avoid this place, shop small local shops.

Be carful with the prices shown on the shelves specially promotions normally original price at the till when I confronted them they said someone must have moved them but there were still few of the items under the promotion price left on the shelves. They left me waiting at the till playing around and pretending to be busy but soon as I moved to one till they all jumped on the till for two people behind me they work in the environment that people from all corners of the world go to buy toys for their children but yet they still carry their stupid prejudices with them to work?

We went into Smyths at the Rayleigh Weir today to look for a toy for our grandaughter for Christmas, which unfortunately wasn't in stock. I stopped a lady called Ellie who had a deputy manager badge on. She looked to see which store had them and took the time to.help us order it on my husbands phone for click and collect. She went above and beyond on a busy afternoon with a smile and a chat which made our shopping experience so much easier. Thank you Ellie! ?

Rude Manager "Aled". I went to the Rayleigh Weir store to eventually be assisted by the rudest staff member I've ever met. I simply asked him for a particular car seat. He asked if I needed advice on how to fit it? I politely declined and explained it would not be going into my car, it was for my 2 year old Grandson and would be going into his Dad's car. I explained my son in law knew how to fit it and that's where the issues begun! Staff member said "just because he's fitted others, it doesn't mean he knows how to fit this particular one, they're all different". Again, I declined advice, I was on a work break and in a hurry and had already waited ages for someone to get me the car seat from the store room as it was. But, it wasn't to be, he then wanted to know my grandsons weight which I didn't know. As I didn't know he said the seat may not be suitable. I explained it was a "123" series so suitable for up to a 12 year old child, but he continued to refuse to get me the car seat without me knowing my Grandsons weight! I said how can a 2 year old weigh more than a 12 year old? He still continued to argue over this. I asked to speak to a manager to complain that this staff member was refusing to get me the car seat just because he was insisting my 2 year old grandson may weigh more than a 12 year old. He then told me he was the manager! I finally got the car seat and sent a complaint to head office and will not be returning So, if visiting this store, avoid "Aled" the so called manager with zero customer service skills!Date of experience: 07 December 2023EditDelete?

I have been looking for a new pram/stroller for months I have a 2yr old who is tall and I wanted a new pram that had a big seat with lots of room that also laid flat for when they are asleep also I wanted a big extendable Hood, I really wanted a black pram is it wouldnt show up the dirt so much or if i could find a black pram i would have just brought a black liner for it and most of all I only wanted a one handle pram/stroller as I think they are easier to push, hang baby bag on and also can attach hand muffs to it...... I have had the use of the Silver Cross reflex but I had found it a hard pram to push and also it has two handles ?. I have been looking at the my babiie mb200 which has one handle but the seat isn't very big also the foot rest isn't wide for there feet, also it doesn't have a extendable Hood. I was driving past my local smyths in Rayleigh Essex and I thought I would have a look at the other pram/stroller I liked which was a my babiie mb51 and I know that smyths had theses to try out. I was greeted by a lady who worked in the baby pram department and she was so helpful she let me try the my babiie mb51 out but I had the same problem as the other my babiie mb200 the seat was small and she agreed with me that I needed a bigger seat so she showed me the zummie zap at first i wasn't sure I was going to like it but I thought let's just give it ago, the seat was bigger and wider with a taller back rest, it had a extendable Hood, it felt very sturdy, also it had a black seat unit ? and most of all it had one handle. I was so happy I had finally found what I have been looking for I even said to the lady why haven't I seen this before when I have been to the store she said they have only had it for a few months. The price of the zummie zap was £119 which I thought was fantastic as the other prams I have been looking at have been £165 and upwards but also didn't fulfil all my needs. The lady said she would check to see if they have any zummie zap in store and they only had one I didn't hesitate I said I would have it, I was so other the moon as I felt like I couldn't find what me and my toddler needed and most of all the lady in the Rayleigh Essex store was amazing so helpful in every way!! and she found the exact new pram I've always wanted, she carried it to the tills for me and said bye I paid and ask the other lady at the till if I could have help carrying it to my car (I was thinking it would have been someone else) but no it was the same lovely lady who helped me find it, I really wish I had got her name as I think she needs to be recognise for her fantastic customer service. My new zummie zap didn't take that long to put together at home and I'm super excited to start using it.. Best buy I would highly recommend this pram ? and I would most definitely highly recommend going to the Rayleigh Essex store for best customer service for the prams ???????????
