Second visit to the bell and didnt let us down. This time had the steak n ale pie peas,mash n gravy. Gorgeous tender meat n pastry all home made. Had to finish with cherry pie n custard. yumsky. Let us stay over in the moho once again. Friendly lovely family pub.Lets hope it continues to please. Need to book especially Sunday lunch. Good mid week deals n smaller plate options.

We did return for Sunday dinner. Very nice. Service could have been a little more attentive but no complaints. In fact most staff were fantastic.
Great prices too and they do a over 55's menu which is popular.

Met some friends here. We were made very welcome and shown to our table. Lots of choices on the menu. Very generous portions and reasonable prices. We all really enjoyed what we had. Service was very friendly and attentive but not annoyingly so.

WelcomIng and friendly, selection of 3 ales available, plus other drinks. Food available from snacks and sandwiches to full roasts on Sunday. Long walk from braintree, though.

Had my wedding reception here and I?ve been blown away with the service, The day ran so smoothly thanks to the team, we had the hog roast and BBQ catering options and every single one of my guests has commented on how great the food was. We were lucky enough to have great weather so were mainly outside in the beautiful garden, the staff were all lovely and so very helpful, Katie the event coordinator is worth her weight in gold she had everything running like a well oiled machine I?m so glad I had her help! I?ve also been a few times just for lunch or dinner with friends and the food is always great, staff are always happy to help, the bell has such a nice homely feel to it I love it there. We?ll definitely be back, thank you all so much for making our big day so perfect ?

We booked The Bell for a Friday afternoon celebration of life event on 17th January. We had looked elsewhere but really loved the homely, friendly atmosphere of The Bell. The day we went to enquire was a very busy Tuesday lunchtime but Lisa could not have been helpful enough (thank you Lisa)She showed us a variety of buffet menus (which were all superior to other we had looked at) let us have time to look through them and when we had chosen what we wanted but asked for some amendments- Lisa was very helpful. We also had some other requests which she was really helpful with.
On the day itself - the food, the team at The Bell could not have been helpful enough ! They made a difficult afternoon so so much better with their helpfulness and professionalism - Thank You All :-)
I really want to add here that the food was just so lovely - as a caterer myself - I was really impressed with the quantity and quality of what we had ordered. The Bell is a perfect place for an intimate gathering / get together.
I have visited The Bell on previous occasions and love the family atmosphere and the locals vibe that exists at this Pub, they have the perfect ingredients to create a setting where you are happy to have a drink and absorb the localness of the pub and also have a traditional meal with family and friends.
Just want to say a big thank you to all at The Bell and recommend the pub for a family get together as well as a casual drink - and give a shout out to Lisa !

The Bell serves the best food. The staff are really friendly and nothing is too much trouble. If you are missing your Mums Sunday roast, then this is the place to come. Even during the week, the food is proper home-made cooking at its best.
Vegetarian options: My partner has the nut roast and can highly recommend it

Hired for our wedding day: September 2024 bride & groom
Myself and my partner hired the bell inn for our wedding day. From the very start just from messaging to book for a viewing, we were welcomed straight away.
We met with the co-ordinator within a few days from messaging. We booked well in advance as we know venues for weddings do get booked up.
We arrived and we was met with the lovely co-ordinator katie. She made us at ease straight away. So friendly and so approachable. We worked through all our plans for the big day. Nothing was an issue, everything was tailored for us, we had future meetings to the build up to the big day. We made different changes just a few week before the big day and nothing was a issue, the bell inn did everything to make everything possible from the smallest details to the biggest details. We met with majority of the team through our meetings, everyone we met were incredibly friendly, really made us feel so welcome.
We want to say a massive thank you to the bell inn and the team for arranging our absolutely amazing wedding day. You all did such an amazing job. You all worked so hard to give us such a great day. Everything ran incredibly, the service, the food, absolutely delicious and at such a high standard, the decorations you put out for us was out of this world. We got so many compliments from our guests. From the very start you made us feel so welcome and at ease, working along side the co ordinator katie and the team to produce our day was the greatest. Thank you again sooo much, we will definitely recommend the bell inn to other's becuase you did outstanding.

Delicious food that tastes genuinely home cooked. Generous portions. Service was great, friendly and polite. The perfect spot for a family lunch.
