A rare surviving owner-managed pub. This means the service is not over the top, but efficient and the food was tasty - and freshly prepared juding by both the taste and time it took. We had my daughter in laws 50th birthday there, it was good to start with, they put a birthday ballon on her seat, we had drinks, ordered starters and mains, the food was served quickly and was very nice. The landlord knew we had a birthday cake with us and even gave us a knife to cut it, so far so good !!, on receiving... read full comment

Beautiful pub and the owner was very friendly. Two of the draught beers were fantastic, food was overall okay. The lasagne was good but portions were quite small and definitely overpriced for what it was, would go again for a pint though!
