Shame online orders are not cooked until you arrive at the shop to collect the food. Annoying, especially when the website asks you to specify the time you want to collect the food and you have to pay online to complete the order.

We rarely have fish and chips but if we do we use Riverside. You just can't go wrong. The last 2 times we have been I've waited while the fish was cooked fresh and it was beautiful ? the service was also great ?

First of all I phoned my order in, for a large haddock, chips and a curry sauce. It cost just under £14. The chips were really lovely, as was the sauce. The staff are really really friendly. Absolutely lovely people and they look after you. However, the haddock was horrid. It was dry. The batter was dry. Parts of the inside were undercooked so was just raw batter inside in places. The fish was a nice size, lovely and thick, but the actual fish was just dry and mixed in the mouth into one lump of just dry tasteless fish. It was disappointing. This place must have changed hands because it used to be the best in the area, sadly it?s no longer that. I?m going to try Mistley next to see what they?re like.

Usually have good meal from here.
Had their fish and chips today, 20.9.24, absolutely scrumptious. Took them to The Walls, sat in the sun there, by the river, to eat them, shear bliss. The gulls appreciated the spare batter and skin (They get no chance of any fish though and very few chips)

After 45mins of waiting I'm told we've mislaid your ticket. End up with a hurried order, undercooked fish and no offer of any compensation. V disappointed.

Absolutely de-flaming-lish-ous!
Could possibly be the best fish & chips I've ever had... Always hot, crispy & fresh... Even in these odd times the staff are always smiling and helpful... I wish I lived closer, although my waistline is probably relieved that I don't!
Parking: A small car park but with advanced ordering it is sufficient.
Wheelchair accessibility: Ground floor with no steps...BUT...the car park is gravel making wheelchairs or walkers a but of a challenge...that being said though I'm sure the wonderful staff would come out to your vehicle.

Despite its location on an industrial estate in Manningtree, this is an exceptionally good fish and chip shop. The fish is very fresh, the portions are large and the quality of frying is very good. It's not the cheapest but as the old saying goes 'you get what you pay for' - highly recommended.
