20-odd years ago I bought a Paramo Halkon jacket from the same company and it has lasted me very well with years of life still left in it, despite encounters with brambles and mud. I use it for birdwatching and country walking during the winter. I wanted something a little smarter for urban use and chose the Pájaro in dark grey. Action Outdoors didn't have one available, but supplied it a couple of days later. The shop doesn't stock high levels of clothing but that doesn't matter: you're there because you want Paramo so it's just a case of checking which item you want and the size you need. The service is commendably 'old school', and nothing is too much trouble. Recommended

I visited today to buy a pair of walking boots as mine were old and had begun to rub. The service was excellent. A lot of time and care was taken to measure my feet and provide advice about the most suitable pair for me. They fit perfectly and I walked over 7 miles in them straight away. I would definitely recommend this business if you want good quality outdoor wear and excellent service.

Ordered a pair of Mountain Boots that I couldn't get locally and David even went to the trouble of sourcing them for me from another retailer as he didn't have my size in stock. Unfortunately the fit wasn't quite right so I had to return them for a refund. Service was first class throughout and David called me several times to let me know what was happening. Will definitely use the online service again, even though it didn't work out this time.
