We hired the blue boar lounge function room for our small wedding gathering of family and friends, and we were absolutely delighted with the service and support staff gave us from beginning to end. They answered every call and question that we had in the lead up to the big day with calm, responsive reassurance, offering above and beyond what we were asking to ensure we had the best experience. The wedding suite was also gorgeous! Wish we could have stayed longer.\\n\\nOn the day itself, they were friendly and attentive throughout, while also giving us the freedom and space to make the day our own, adding all our personal touches. The setting was absolutely beautiful and very well maintained for the oldest pub in the area!\\n\\nWe received so many compliments from guests on the location and running of the event - which we entirely pass on to you. So thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our day so special. Highly recommended to anyone else looking to host a well-managed medieval-feel event with an authentic, comfortable, laid back atmosphere.

Just tucked away off the high Street great selection of beers for every taste. Has a great setting and character inside.

Had an overnight stay with my husband, as we were recommended by our friends who stay here whenever in maldon. The staff was very friendly and check in was really smooth and easy, you can park free in the car park if you put registration in as you check in the staff will tell you to do this as well. Our room was stunning, but the floor boards do creack, but it's an old building. We had lunch and it was really tasty and enjoyable. The walk to the Quay is about 10 minutes if that, and is definitely worth a walk down to, it was so peaceful I could of sat there all day. Will definitely return for another stay.

How is this place only a 1 star hotel??!The Blue Boar is the most fantastic wobbly,quirky corner of perfection in Maldon. The atmosphere and character of The Blue Boar is only added to by the extremely friendly and welcoming staff,to think they're only at it a couple of months. And then there's the breakfast!!!Can't wait to return.

How is this place only 1 star? It was fantastic, centrally located, well run, great value and an all round pleasant experience. We were even given a complimentary tub of ice cream on arrival, a touch I really wasn't expecting. Well done! Keep up the good work ?Noteworthy details: The ice cream!Excellent breakfast.

A very pleasant hotel with beautiful furnishings and new carpets throughout. Bathroom very new and modern. In an ideal location. Beware it is next door to a clock tower on a church which does chime every hour overnight. Beautiful artwork and chandelier in my room number 15. Very nice breakfast freshly cooked to order.Rooms: Newly furnished. Everything looks quite new.

Stayed here for a recent festival in the promenade park.Based in the middle of the town only a few meters before your in the high street.Free car park available for residents, but was busy when we first got there as it's also available to non residents for a few.It's about 15-20 mins stroll along the main high street to the park taking in local shops, pubs, restaurants etc,The staff in the hotel were attentive, helpful and happy, offering a warm greeting and a pleasant service with a smile, nothing was too much trouble for them.Breakfast was good with choice of cereal, full English or lighter meal with toast etc.Will definitely go back and use these again.

Stayed here for 2 nights, staff were really helpful and friendly, Emma had only just started and couldn't be more helpful, breakfast was lovely too, yoghurts,cereal etc and full English or other choices, tea, juice and coffee in abundance!! Can't wait to go back!!! In the centre of town so great location!!Rooms: Clean, tidy, kettle with tea etc, coffee machine, shower gel, hand wash, fans!!!Nearby activities: Lots of pubs and restaurants

My favourite pub in Maldon, its the oldest and quirkiest pub, with stuffed animals every where. (Not a place for vegans) loved the history and everything about this place.
