Quirky little place, very unassuming from the outside and the entrance is easy to miss or think you've walked into someone's home. Step inside to be greeted by an unusual menu ( sadly a number of items were not available) and very unusual artwork on the walls. The food was nice enough although could have done with a little more seasoning and the staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Very strange to be served half a potato as an amuse buch.

I visited Rubino Kitchen for the first time on Saturday night. We were fortunate to pick an evening where they had a 5 Course tasting menu which was absolutely delightful. The combination of different foods appeared unusual but compliments to the chef because every dish worked so well and was delicious. The service was excellent, friendly and time between dishes was spot on. I would love to go back again soon to sample dishes on their A la Carte Menu which I am sure will be very inviting. I had a thoroughly enjoyable evening and I have no hesitation in recommending this lovely restaurant.

A stunning dinner at Rubino kitchen - had 3 courses from the July menu and could not recommend any enough. It?s been a while since I?ve had such a nice meal - the ham hock arancini with its pea velouté was amazing, such a nice combination (and I don?t even like peas normally!), the jerk chicken with its leek risotto again was a bold but delicious combination. We can?t wait to return!

Wow, just wow. I recently visited Rubino kitchen and have to say I was blown away. The food was incredible, absolute credit to the chef who has come up with some incredible combinations that you?d never guess would work so well. Every dish was stunning, great portions and you could see the effort and care put into every meal. I?m very much looking forward to returning, especially with the rotating menus every few months. It?s a great place to eat at.

We were visiting the area and this place looked interesting. We had lunch and were so impressed we immediately booked a table for Sunday lunch the next day.
Both meals were excellent. Great quality ingredients treated with love and delivered with excellent service. Highly recommend. We will come back to the area for another visit just to eat here again.

We love this restaurant. We think it would be difficult to improve food, atmosphere, service or value for money. The little treats that arrive between courses is a great touch.

Absolutely top tier service and quality. Everything came out like a well oiled machine. Dishes were inventive and delivered on visuals, taste AND price. The ladies serving us were knowledgeable, warm and charming. Even though we had the set menu they allowed us to swap in other dishes.
I brought some friends from London who eat out a lot down there and they didn?t wanted to leave Rubino Kitchen at all!
I highly recommend the rabbit. Pound for pound the most flavour I have ever experienced in one mouthful, in my entire life!!

Enjoyable first visit, the food was nicely presented and tasted great, good value fixed set menu.
Would like to see alcohol volume % against the wines, and rather than a sample of the fixed menu posted on line, the actual menu uploaded onto the web-site or social media platforms.
I had to call the restaurant in advance to obtain this information.

Anniversary dinner and we left VERY disappointed. Didn't finish both starter & main course as tasteless and basic. Dessert was again very basic and felt like it was shop bought. Service: the ladies were welcoming & courteous, but it was awful & extremely slow. 1 hour wait between starter & main course!
Sorry but won't be back!

We had lunch with friends at Rubino Kitchen yesterday, our first visit. The four of us each had different starters and mains with 2 of us opting for different desserts. Between each course we were given little tasters which were a lovely gesture. The food was excellent - each of us rated their dish highly and said they would definitely return. The atmosphere was slightly lacking hence the 3 stars but all it needs are a few more customers. Come on Inworth/Kelvedon/Coggeshall/Colchester, give the Rubino Kitchen a try - you will be very happy you did.
