Too much noise too late from the Deckhouse.

We camped, so I can't really give a star rating for the 'rooms', but the pods and fixed tents did look good.
We found it a lovely site, and will return.

Lots to do

A large family group of us stayed here for some 40th birthday celebrations. The Glass House that a couple of us were in had everything we needed. The hot tub out on our deck was the best! Just for info, the Glasses houses are not accessible. Also, some of the sleeping facilities inside aren't as easy to access if you're older or have any mobility issues. That said, it's still a campsite. Albeit a very nice luxury one! Some of our family stayed in very well equipped tents, shepherd huts, and other types of lodges. I was told that the ones that didn't have facilities inside had access to very clean and secure toilet and shower blocks. But I can't really comment properly, as I didn't use them. The whole site looked clean, tidy, and well looked after. I felt there could have been information provided about the clubhouse, experiences, cycle, and equipment hire. We only found out about some of these things ourselves or from other visitors on the site.
Rooms: We didn't have rooms in the Glass House as such. All the beds are pull-outs, except the mezzanine. So it's all open plan apart from the shower room/toilet.
Walkability: There was a nice promenade there for walks.
Food & drinks: There's a beach club bar and sports cafe. They do the occasional entertainment. There's also a lovely little Tiptree tearoom on the harbour wall, facing out onto the Heybridge basin.

It was lovely to see the kids running around and not on their iPads. Had a lovely time.

Love this gem

For a muddy meadow, bad shower (water sprays the whole cabin wet, you don't get enough water yourself), access to sanitary facilities over a muddy meadow, no gray water disposal possible, construction noise on the site all day and then being forced to stay for 2 nights even though that Space is empty!!! All of this at a completely exorbitant price. In over 4 years of motorhome travel, we have never had such an expensive place with so little in return. Absolutely cannot be recommended. Motorhomes are apparently not welcome.

We had to book at least 2 nights even though the RV space was empty. We paid the equivalent of CHF 94 for this, which is really expensive and really surprised us. There was noise all day long from trucks, construction workers, construction machinery. The showers/toilet can only be reached by walking across a meadow, there is no path there. The meadow was wet and muddy. The place we were allowed to stand on was just as muddy. The motorhome sank so we couldn't drive onto the wedges to level it out. With a lot of effort and hardship we got away from the place after two days. What amazed us most was that you can't even dispose of gray water. We cannot recommend this place and will not come back. The positive thing was that the lady at reception was very friendly.

Lovely well kept residential and holiday park. Also has restaurant and bar facilities on site with an outdoor play area and large screen TVs showing a range of current sports.

Visited here after finding a last minute deal on campsites uk, as had work down in the area. The issues I came across why I've giving 4 stars for service was the fact we were charged a £50 security deposit something I wasn't aware off next day email came saying it was £30 but they have held £50 and can take up to 7 days to be returned bit of a con really. But the reception staff where not the most helpfull. Now the park wardan was an absolute gem, went above and beyond for all the guests and cared if we were having a good time.Toilets for some reason kepyed been locked at night so if you needed the loo you were in trouble, the gents toilet there was quite a bit of damage in places which was sad to see,The shower could of done with a bench and place to put your wash stuff etc instead everything gets soaked,Absolute brillent that the bathrooms where nice and hot with lovely hot water except the dreaded button that only turned the shower on for 8 seconds.Place is a lovely site and very well maintained grounds which they where doing some improvements when we arrived and once that grass has taken will look stunning. The pods we stayed in the malvern abouts brillent! Comfoy bed, clean and tidy and the seating outside was brillwnt with its own fire pit and bbq area well worth it. These are brillent.Just remeber there is no microwave etc just a kettle wise and a fridge.Overall if it wasn't for the reception staff not been that friendly and helpfull I would of given this site 5 stars on behalf of the hard work the wardan does.I would requemend this site just remeber the security deposit!
