So thankful to the John Barleycorn for accommodating our family and friends to gather after saying goodbye to a dear family member. Lovely setting, spacious and welcoming staff. Lovely food too. Highly recommended.

Absolutely perfect food, brilliant setting/location and very clean. Perfect, friendly and hospitable service from the staff. The food was absolutely amazing, great sized portions and served in a well timed manner, my only gripe - if pressed (pardon the pun) would be is that the only draught cider available was Stortford Press - not an issue though. Also - amazing Koi pond, lovely calming atmosphere and very friendly service.

Great pub and food. Loved it. Came to the John Barleycorn for my 16th Birthday 39 years ago. Didn't disappoint this time either.

Decent place however wouldn't say amazing food. Potatoes didn't taste well but the stake pie was really good.
When asking for the table next to the window they were reluctant to give away however booking never arrived...

Went there for a family meal and was absolutely blown away by the quality of food / customer service / friendliness, in short this is probably one of the best Gastro Pubs around. Thank you and we will be back ?

Got a table at short notice for late Sunday afternoon. Staff are lovely and very accommodating (we had our 7 month old son with us). Sunday roast was best we?ve had in a long time, generous portions and cooked perfectly. Highly recommend.

Steak and ale pie was delicious and the chips also very crispy and tasty. The veg always seems to be rock hard which is disappointing. Veg needs to be cooked longer and it would be a perfect meal.
