3 stars because the fitting rooms are dark and nowhere to put your clothes when trying on and the way clothes are tagged is sometimes impossible to try on, I understand why they need to do this but maybe a different way could be used. Staff were helpful.

A large store with a huge variety of homeware, furniture, lighting clothing, shoes etc at good prices. Very spacious ideal for motorbility scooters, children buggies and wheelchairs. Unfortunately regular long queues at checkouts so be prepared. Free car parking alongside store for two hours via a voucher given with receipt.

Very quiet today. Got my choices of items. Self service counter now. I think I saw staff there to help if need be.

Terrible service! Long queues. If you want to pay cash you have to queue with all the collections, exchanges and refunds. This is unacceptable for the elderly who don't carry credit cards or have mobile apps to pay! And why does this place close SO EARLY?!?!? Some people work until until 6pm so have no choice but to visit on the weekend when it's rammed and you queue for up to 40 minutes to pay cash. WORSE STORE EVER

I have just visited your Matalan shop in Harlow. I wanted to buy a jacket, but the only ones in store were wrong size. A very lovely lady called Sally could not have been more helpful. Not only did she look up for the code for me to order on line, but then when I asked if she could let me have a look at the jacket in the shop window, she did it with pleasure. She then put it through the till and tried a couple of discount vouchers (which I did not already hold) and the sale went through. I promised her that I would let you know just how good that lady is. I don?t really understand why they have free standing mirrors in the shop if they don?t let you try things on top of your T-shirt. The checkout was slow and have to wait a long queue. Price not too bad but not even good.

Waited for 30 mins in line because we payed cash and was busy standing around talking instead of opening another till. Incredible slow service.

Would give zero stars is allowed. Disgraceful customer service. Queuing for half hour so far just to exchange. The queue is 14 people and 1 till open for exchanges... seriously slow service. No manager to be seen. Instead of other staff member asking what transaction we are doing she could jump on a til. Poorest service I have witnessed ever is all I can say.

Awful customer service, would have rated zero stars if possible. Made online order with a discount voucher, which was applied and not given. When queried was told that l could not be refunded the discount and l could not cancel the order which l have yet to receive. I believe this to be fraudulent as the discount vouchers when applied work but do not deduct the amount and there is nothing you can do about it.

Awful service today. Had to queue for ages to return an item. It was to exchange for other goods of higher value and l was eventually served (without an apology for the lengthy wait l had experienced ) to be told l wasn?t entitled to anything at all because l had no receipt and the price of the item l wanted to exchange had been reduced!!! I decided to speak to a member of management as l was pretty sure this was wrong. I was told that of course l could exchange and directed back to the same till to continue with my transaction. Had to wait for ages again as the customer in front also had issues they couldn?t cope with and then the ?till crashed?. When l finally got served by the same cashier - Casey- there was no apology for the length of time l had waited AGAIN so l decided then to point out her previous misinformation ??.she gave no eye contact and just shrugged her shouldersI prompted that this was her opportunity to apologise to me and she responded with ?well, that?s what l was told?She had many opportunities and many reasons to apologise to me and she chose not to, and the manager didn?t actually apologise on her behalf either.I have worked in retail for over 20 years and have always put the customer first. I have spent thousands of pounds in matalan over the years.Shocking customer service and they will not receive any more of my custom,

The only time I come into Matalan is when they have got a sale on and for a click and collect order I purchased online. However when I was in there yesterday I heard the manager and her other member of staff slagging off other customers and the manager when I picked up my click and collect order she was standing right next to me and coughed when she didn't keep two metres apart. Not much of a manager if you ask me.
