My first time having brow lamination, so thought I would go somewhere I trust to get my hair done.
Unfortunately, when it came to the waxing part, my skin was removed with the wax. The therapist was confident it was my "sensitive skin", and they had done everything right and by the book (which I cannot comment on as this is my first time, but seemed to match up with all my previous research). I was then asked if I used creams/retinols, which I don't, so they suspect the chemicals had irritated my skin.
I was given some cream and ointment and specifically told it would not scar. Mineral makeup was put on to cover the redness and I left £45 down and 7 points on the pain-scale up.
I returned home and seeing my skin in natural light, thought it best to wait a few hours before calling for advice... upon calling, I was told I must contact the therapist I saw independently, as she is self-employed. This information turned out to be incorrect. I called again, to get the correct name of my therapist. I sent a follow-up email and was contacted by their receptionist, who advised someone would call me... They have not made contact with me yet (almost 3 weeks ago to date).
I was offered makeup to cover the redness, as I had a weekend of events for a family members 60th birthday, and almost everybody I spoke to was very polite. (Unfortunately, I did not make an appointment to collect the makeup, because the original application didn't cover the wounds sufficiently, and I wasn't prepared to leave the house looking like I had been attacked by a badger with mace).
Make what you will of this information but, to clarify, I did not get the chance to look at my skin in natural lighting before being allowed to leave looking like that, was not asked prior to the appointment if I used creams or if I had sensitive skin (the answer to both of which is no anyway, but be mindful if you do), and was told to wait for a callback that never came.
Disappointed with the overall professionalism. Disappointed with the results. Disappointed with the cost. Disappointed with the communication. Disappointed with the whole experience - apart from the therapist herself, she was quite lovely.
**The photos taken are of the first 7 days post appointment, apart from the last one which was taken 19 days post where the hyperpigmentation can be seen quite significantly**

Had an eyebrow wax here which was very disappointing. The therapist left red patches on my eyelids where skin has been peeled off. I was offered a refund and a future wax free. If I was going away or to a function I would be really angry, ots painful, swollen and red.

My partner and I have recently moved to Essex. Going to a new hair salon, in a new area was daunting in itself and I was very anxious of the unknown.But that all changed instantly, the moment I met lovely Callie for a consultation meeting, which was 48 hours prior to completing the hair do. We discussed in great depth the hair style I wanted, including the colours to complete the settle balayage look, which will go well with my hair texture, to my skin complexion and also subtle for work purposes as well.Callie was also aware that I have maintained my long hair and not dyed my hair for over a decade and she took great pride of my hair like it?s her own.On the day of completing the balayage look. Callie ensured that there were no other appointments books. She explained the whole process and reassured me every step of the way. I truly felt a deep connection with Callie. She was very polite, professional, demonstrated charisma and she was very thoughtful.This was the first time after so long, that I was pampered and fussed over. I felt like a million dollar baby ? and a princess all at the same time and this was all created by Callie and the team. The hours went by so quickly and at no given moment did Callie rush the process. She is truly passionate, remarkable and a rare gem ? to come by.Thank you so much Callie for everything. My partner was over the moon seeing me with the new look and the smile ? you put on my face.You have not only gained a returning customer, but a fan instead. Thank you so much Callie and the team for going over and beyond for making my day enjoyable at your salon. I will certainly return again soon ??.

I have been going to this salon for more years than I care to mention because they're so good. I now happily travel from Suffolk to get my hair coloured & cut by Louise. All of the staff are extremely professional & helpful. I would also like to express my gratitude to Paige who frequently goes above and beyond to help. Well done all @ Avant Garde.

Firstly, every member of staff at the salon were very attentative and friendly.The salon itself was very clean and tidy and everyone was very conscious of keeping things neat and out of the way when finished with.As for what I went in for, I had a balayage done by Alex, which was thoroughly discussed at a consultation appointment a few days prior, and to say the colour she done is amazing is a complete understatement. I am so happy with how it turned out that I wish I had gone in to see her years ago.I also had it cut and styled by Callie, and she was brilliant. She made sure she knew exactly what I wanted, and took the time to discuss what would be best for my hair ragarding what I do with it day to day to get the best style that works for me.My hair looks beautiful and feels really healthy. I am elated with my new hair.Thank you!I look forward to seeing you in the future for all my hair needs.Services: Hair coloring

Two visits and left with something I didn?t ask for, waiting on a response to fix their mistakes! I went in for a full head colour change and the first visit I left unhappy and asked for another visit to have it fixed and done the way I wanted. I showed multiple pictures and said ?if this can?t be done I would much prefer a refund? nothing was ever mentioned of problems with my request but after my second visit I left unhappy again with the same hair I went in with. So disappointed in the service after a lot of money spent and unnecessary hair damage.Services: Hair coloring
