The Guild Hall in Thatched, Essex has a cutting story. Cutting in a positive way, that is. It is thought that the cost of its building was once funded from the cutlery trade by the Guild of Cutlers -or so we were told by the friendly and knowledgeable attendant. The open ground floor once served as tiny a covered market and meeting place. With a dungeon for punished people and upper floors serving several purposes. Now a museum, it is well worth a visit if in the area.

Carefully is being preserved medieval building without damaging its historical architecture, I would say the only attraction in this monotonous dull village
