A truly dreadful experience visiting the Lakeside Wimpy. Rude and inattentive staff, food safety and general hygiene issues, and terrible food. We regularly visit another Wimpy location not too far from this one and always have a wonderful experience. The table service in particular is what Wimpy is known for. Well, not at Lakeside.
We were only seated after asking a staff member (there are signs saying you are not to seat yourself). We ordered a chocolate milkshake and a Pepsi float ? both were made improperly. We received our food (two original quarter pounders with fries, and a portion of onion rings) fairly promptly. However, despite asking for the burgers well done they were not only not well done, but pink inside. Somehow the food arrived cold ? despite being seated about five metres from the kitchen area.
We were not provided with cutlery or napkins and, despite asking, still did not receive any (keep in mind this is part of what the Wimpy brand is known for). The serving staff (five young ladies) were gathered around the kitchen area in a circle chatting the entire time we were in there and seemed irritated by customers asking for assistance. I?ve really no issue with them having a conversation, but only if they are still being attentive and doing their jobs.
The tables and floor were grimy, and the toilets (both male and female) were beyond filthy and the taps in the male toilets did not work to wash your hands (keep in mind these are the same toilets the staff are using).
We did speak with the manager about both the lack of customer service and particularly the issues with our food being undercooked. He was very apologetic, to his credit, but only offered us a measly 10% discount on our order. We will not be visiting Wimpy Lakeside again. If I could give zero stars, I would.
Kid-friendliness: Not remotely friendly to children, or anyone for that matter.

My 15 year old daughter and I visited today. We were sat down and given two adult menus. I explained to the server that my daughter has crohns disease (IBD) and can't eat adult portions, so I always order her a children's meal. She replied 'well you'll have to speak to them, coz they probably won't have that" (meaning the cooks/management) and she said, quite rudely, that she shouldn't be eating from a kids menu. But as I explained, she's very ill and always has a kids meal. I don't really see the big deal, as I'm not asking for any preferential treatment, but don't want to purchase large amounts of food and waste it.
I said I'd go elsewhere and she said "there's no need for that LOVE, I only said you'd better ask them'. Well, I really don't see the issue ordering a kids size portion, even for an adult, if it means you're not along waste and also, the kids prices aren't exactly cheap and you're only paying for what you get, which isn't much!.
For this reason, we won't be dining in there again.
We've always eaten in this establishment and she's always had a kids meal, so I think this silly little jobsworth has just lost a few customers. Very cocky little madam with no customer service skills.

We went to the Lakeside #Wimpy today and we were very disappointed. The portion sizes are ridiculous, as for the pricing that was extornate for 2 eggs and a few fries plus a burger and fries with 2 milkshakes, it came to £30 for basically two kids meal sizes. . They?ll end up going bust if that?s what they continue to offer. I don?t mind paying abit more than other burger outlets if the food better but I?m afraid we?ll just stick with B/King or McDs.

Popped in for a quick bite before we go to meet santa. The lady who served us was lovely and made sure to get our order correct. We did have to send one item back as there was a hair on the burger however this was corrected quickly. The 'manager' Rodney was walking up and down and seemed very hostile towards his staff and not to mention quite abrupt in how he spoke to the lovely lady who served us. Very lovely team apart from the 'manager'

This place has gone down hill and wouldn?t recommend to anyone eating here. We waited 20 minutes for drinks and food. The Pepsi was flat, the kids chicken nugget meal you only get 3 nuggets and a small portion of chips. Wasn?t aloud to order the big brekki and could only order the all day breakfast. The food was awful and refused to pay for it and sent it back. Will never eat here again.
And is well over priced for food that isn?t even enjoyable! The rating for this place should be 0

My mum and I went into this branch just for a drink, which they said was fine to do. Everything about this wasn't fine at all!! There wasn't many customers seated at all, yet it took about 15 minutes to get served whilst the waiters were standing around chatting. Eventually, a waitress got told to come over and take our order and then proceeded to continue to chat and laugh with other staff members. I reckon it took a further 15 minutes before we actually received our two drinks. Awful!!
Has also been getting other customers orders wrong.

Food was pleasant but service was very lacking and atmosphere felt very awkward and hostile.

Avoid at all costs.
Attempted to eat here yesterday, and gave up after one bite.
Food was vile, Service was hostile right from the get go.
Food was served on a dirty plate. Cold, undercooked and over priced.
Staff have zero interest in thier job.
Prices have increased loads and probably because it was empty as everyone knows to avoid.
DO NOT EAT HERE! MY PARTNER AND I HAVE BEEN SICK SINCE EATING HERE!
I attempted to tell the staff and they admited all food is frozen so sorry if it was cold. - you'd think they'd understand it has be too cooked!

Staff didn't seem to want to work. The food was awful. It was obviously all frozen food cooked fast. The price was ridiculous considering it was Iceland food heated and served.
I went in looking for a bit of nostalgia, walked out with an upset stomach. I will not be returning
