Neighbours noisy
Where toilet is so close to sink not very practical!

The Travelodge at Lakeside is in a brilliant spot, right next to shops, restaurants and the water. It is a new building in a prime location, so expectations were high, but the design feels stuck in 2005. Even numbers are supposed to face the lake, yet ours didn?t, and to make it more frustrating the very last room in the row switched to an odd number and got the lake view. Instead we were left facing a busy road, with cars racing past all night, no air conditioning, no hairdryer, a mattress where you could feel the springs, small TV and thin towels. For £110 a night, it felt more like a £50 budget stay.
The staff deserve credit. They were friendly and helpful, but at times it looked like only one or two people were left to run the entire hotel. They did their best, but clearly they were under-resourced.
That is what makes this hotel such a missed opportunity. The location could easily support something far more than the current budget model. With investment in proper mattresses, modern amenities and a clear premium room category that guarantees a lakeside view, this site could become one of Travelodge?s flagship properties. Guests would pay more for the experience, the venue would build a stronger reputation and the company would get far better returns from such a prime spot. Right now the potential is obvious but it is not being realised. It feels like a great shame and wasted opportunity from management.

We received a warm welcome from Dawn and the staff were helpful and friendly, especially Maryam who was attentive and chatty. The room was spotless, and the breakfast was excellent. All in all great value for money and close to the M25. We will definitely stop off again on our way back from France. Perfect!

Not really dirty rooms but could be cleaner. There were cotton buds under the bed when we pulled the bed out and the mirror hadn?t been wiped in the bathroom. The towels we were given had what looked like maybe hair dye on them.
We were placed in a room right by the door to get through to level 3 and all night we heard the door banging from people coming in and out so I think they need to do something to the door to stop it being so loud.
I would stay again as the location is good but I would request a room away from the door to get a better nights sleep.

Let?s start with the good. Location is nice, especially overlooking the lake and ample free parking which is unusual in this day and age. Hotel looks very new and modern and is clean and tidy. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming.
Unfortunately the food was far from great. Even for the cheap cost it was poor. It?s clear that the hotel is run as cheaply as possible as the poor lady was running the front desk, bar, table service and it seems ?cooking? in the kitchen.
The worst though was the room. Whilst new and modern looking I was shocked to see no air conditioning and whilst a fan was provided the room was uncomfortably hot with no way of cooling it down. The bed was ridiculously hard. 2 very thin pillows as well that were uncomfortable. A very restless nights sleep.

Good hotel for price paid. Managed to get a room on the lakeside so a nicer view, which included the inflatable assault course, rather than the car park and road. Room very quiet and clean. Reception staff really friendly and welcoming.

Staff lovely. The room was hotter than the sun which made for a much depleted sleep. Sam and Tania worked hard to get us a delicious breakfast before the time stated as we had to leave early. Thank you very much :)

Great hotel. Love when we get a room with a lake view! Was fun to watch people on the water course. Quite noisy at night with the window open, but the bed was really comfy. Wish they'd give you more toilet roll, as my boyfriend goes through half a roll on one poop - and he has loads!! (Also boooo to anything under 3 ply). Staff were great and got a cot added to our room.
Will most likely be staying here again, fingers crossed for lake view again ?

Set in a spacious plot by the Lakeside lake, near Lakeside shopping complex and Lakeside retail park. From our room we could see the tall suspension bridge that crosses over the Thames River, do you know there's also a tunnel that copies the same stretch.

Staff were lovely, no real concerns with them. The room was shocking. Pillows and blankets still had stains on them, bathroom was incredibly cramped, bed was beyond uncomfortable, I truly don?t think it would?ve been that much worse off just laying on the carpet. If you really need to stay close the shopping centre then this will do the job but I would strongly suggest just travelling a little bit to a higher quality hotel.

I had the pleasure of staying here for a few days. Abbey, one of the managers checked me in when i arrived, she's very pleasant and approachable, she made my stay worthy. All the staff here are all dedicated and a lovely bunch. They had an all you can eat breakfast on site for those that chose to have it has an extra add on. I was extremely pleased with the room size, bathroom , and the amenities on point. The property is very clean and well kept. I can tell the employees take pride in keeping the surroundings clean. I loved the mere fact, the mall was within walking distance.I will stay here again.
