My visit to Robert Dyas at Lakeside was incredibly frustrating, all because of the disappointing customer service I received. I came in looking for a specific air fryer and noticed the model I wanted on a high shelf at the back of the store.
I approached a female employee to ask for assistance. She had a slight accent and was of African descent. When I asked about the product she dismissed my request, suggesting that the product was likely empty or no longer for sale. Her body language and facial expression made it clear she thought it would be a waste of her time to get a ladder and check.
After her refusal to help, I noticed other products on similar high shelves that were clearly for sale on the shop floor. I decided to try my luck with another employee, who was thankfully much more helpful and agreed to check the item for me. To the first employee's clear annoyance, the product I wanted was indeed in the box and perfectly sellable.
Despite finding the air fryer I was looking for, I refused to purchase it. The negative experience with the first employee was so off-putting that I didn't want to give the store my business.
This is a clear example of how a poor attitude from one team member can cost a sale and leave a customer with a lasting negative impression. If an employee is unsure about a product, it's always better to ask a colleague rather than giving a customer a dismissive attitude.

Was waiting for a longtime
In the queue but the worker Mimi Edith was very rude with my wife she said for refund can I am not doing long queue behind you I told her my wife is waiting from long time and she is pregnant but still her behaviour was rude

Visited the store in Lakeside on 18th January 2025. Staff are really helpful and polite which is not the first time. Always get excellent service from all the team. Thank you once again. Sharon x

Purchased on line which was misleading on website not clear about process .whilst I appreciate nothing to do with lakeside store I found them un helpful . And they didn?t care will not be using Robert days again very disappointed

Bought a air fryer that was discounted to half price after borrowing on e from a friend and theres stopped working .iur oven broke so was next best thing till we could afford a new one have leart a different way of cookung

Wouldn't recommend buying from their website, really bad service, no communication and tracking available on items. Waited more than two weeks for an order for which the money was taken but out of stock. After weeks trying to contact customer service, was told that the items wasn't dispatched as it was out of stock.

Visited the Lakeside store today and what a great team, Very polite and smiling which is good to see in these times :0) well done team especially Samantha who we dealt with amazing customer service thank you !! The store looked amazingly set out very clearly and stocked neat and tidy, and the shop window display is another thing that caught our eye as we walked past 10/10
