We had a lovely weekend at the Woolpack. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Pub is great, with beautiful beer garden. Room was bright and clean, with a fantastic continental breakfast supplied in room. Really recommend. Thank you

Fantastic pub,Fantastic period style rooms,bathroom is bigger than our frontroom,1400s so going to be low beams no matter how many times your told and there is a sign to saying watch your head you will bang it lol.its quirky and full of character. Reasonably priced too..wonderful pub beautiful location, nice lovely friendly staff.x

Popped in at lunchtime and received a very rude and unwelcome reception so walked out again. I don't recommend this place at all. I last went in there 6 years ago and it was lovely. It has certainly gone down hill. I won't be back.

What a beautiful little village pub! My partner and I are not local - we live a few hours away - but stayed in Coggeshall recently for a few days and found this pub on one of our evening walks. Really good selection of drinks and sprits for good prices. The staff and locals couldn?t be more friendly and welcoming. There is a really lovely ?vibe? about this place and the people in there. Special thanks to Elaine behind the bar who was not only so warm and welcoming? but was also our evenings entertainment! ? We will definitely be back.

We were tired from travelling. Wanted some rest.
On outside beautiful pub. Beergarden not clean due to a dog which made us decide to leave early.
Staff was nice.
But please do something about the dog.

Clean, friendly staff, beautifully decorated room but watch your heads as lovely old quirky building with low ceilings. Very comfy and cosy bed. Would stay again.

We stayed here for a weekend getaway. The room was tastefully decorated although we repeatedly hit our heads on the original low beam next to the bed and forgetting to duck to enter. The room breakfast was lovely and plentiful. The check in staff could have been more welcoming and friendlier. We were not informed until after checking in that the downstairs restaurant was temporarily closed. Which was important as we had a toddler and had planned to use it for room meals/east access as needed but had to get all meals off side. We also weren't advised ahead of the night entertainment including DJ that went on until midnight and was very audible in the room. Presumably this has been raised before as there were foam ear plugs provided but unfortunately finding out both of these only after checking in was unfortunate as we wouldn't have booked for that specific stay. Comfortable beds, lovely separate bathroom with bath and good decor.

We had a lovely stay, great experience in such a historic building - you really get the character when stopping over, well beyond visiting just the bar. Great value, lovely people, wonderfully clean, nice touches for breakfast, fantastic. Would love to return.
Really not great for accessibility though, but as expected for such an interesting old building.
