Went here today after finding out the other local pub wasn?t serving roast dinners for the summer. Best decision we made to come to the Sun instead. The roast was one of the best I?ve ever had. Good amount of food and very friendly service. Will now be our go to for roasts on Sundays!

The food was amazing. But the service was absolutely awful. We booked a table for 3. After half an hour the waitress eventually came over using the excuse that they thought another person was joining us. We booked a table for 3. We had waited so long we decided to skip starters and have a main meal and a dessert instead. After we finished, half an hour passed without anyone coming over again. Eventually we caught the eye of the waitress and just asked for the bill. We decided we?d buy a dessert at the co op and take it home instead because the service was the worst we had experienced anywhere. I wouldn?t mind, but the place was almost deserted. So they wasn?t busy or run off their feet. We?re very good tippers because we both work in industries that rely on tips. But you have to earn your tip. Just being courteous , polite and good service will have us leaving you good tip. So we left no tip. Because it certainly didn?t warrant it. You?ve lost this family?s custom and we?ve already told our friends not to bother. Bad bad bad service

Superbly friendly pub. The food was excellent and very good value. We stopped with the dogs and they were made very welcome. This will become a regular stop on the way.

We had the most wonderful meal on Sunday with our extended family and friends (around 20 of us) after my sister?s wedding the day before. As always, the food was spectacular and the service the same. Super friendly staff and very informative too when we were asking about the history of the building. After having worked in a pub myself I understand how tricky it can be to serve 20 people at once and perform it so seamlessly. We were all on such a high and so excited from the day before and it was so great to be able to carry that on without being rushed away.
I will also add that myself and my family are some of the fussiest people I have ever met. There is rarely a meal where someone doesn?t complain so the biggest accomplishment is that we all left with clean plates and big smiles on our faces.

Really lovely restaurant, perfect for couples or groups. Food was absolutely delicious. Cheese board with choice of cheeses and homemade crackers was sensational. Great vegetarian menu as well. Lovely service and garden area is very romantic.

Always fabulous food and I love sitting in the Courtyard in the Summer. In the winter the inside is cosy.
Not cheap but oh so worth it. Veg from their own garden, fresh foccacia with oil and saba, great roast and puddings to die for. Burgers also awesome. Ate my roast so quick I forgot to take a photo!
Parking: Small car park at the back and a bit of parking on the road. Plenty of parking today as people in the village walk, but sometimes its full.
