Needed an eye test so I went to the Epping branch in Essex where I have been in the past. After the test I declined the offer to have glasses done by them and this is because they have very little choice of big size rounded glasses. The cheap glasses they have are very plain and I wanted something precise without spending a fortune and, as I have a big face/head, with suitable sizing. I searched online and I decided to order from Glasses Direct. I used Specsavers prescription and the PP from my past Specsavers orders.Once I go the glasses the prescription for distance worked well but the one for reading turned out to be incorrect. Actually, the mid distance one, the one prescription which should be used for computer use, happened to be correct for reading.I then went back to the same branch of Specsavers in Epping to ask for a rectification of the prescription as I now miss the mid distance measurement. The person I talked to was very patronising and told me to ?go back to Glasses Direct? to get a refund and then to have glasses done by Specasavers. Once I insisted that this had nothing to do with Glasses Direct he kept telling me that, as I chose to have my glasses done by them they bear no responsibility. If I wanted to have a correct mid distance prescription I needed to pay again for the eye test.Needless to say I left and will never use Specsavers again. They bombard me with letters and text messages to get me to use their service and then I am blackmailed to use their limited and for my size unsuitable frames, otherwise they would not correct their own mistakes in the prescription. Unacceptable and considering the choices available at this moment in time, unwise decision from their part.

I would definitely recommend Epping branch for their friendly staff, professional/knowledgeable opticians and all round value for money for the service which they efficiently provide. ??

Rang this morning as my glasses had broken, they fitted me in quickly and managed to get my lenses in new frames so i was able to see. Staff in branch were brilliant, really helpful and friendly. Also turned out to be significantly cheaper than i had expected so that was a bonus too!
