First the good. Considering it was mid March with rain for the past the course was reasonably dry, the greens were quicker than expected but needed to be rolled.Now the bad...every bunker was gur which is terrible, rocks and god knows what in them. There were a lot of holes off mats which is fine..but actually buy some new mats so they are playable

Really enjoy playing this course. A challenging variety of holes. The greens are great. Look forward to playing when the summer comes.

Pleasantly surprised!After reading some of the reviews I decided to play here with an open mind.Taking into consideration the weather has been rather wet over the last 2 weeks, the course played well. The tees were manageable 5/10, in need of levelling and seeding. the fairways 7/10, the greens were the strong point with a good 8.5/10. They were soft to good in most places and ran true. The undulations were incredibly challenging and if you hit that ball just a tad too hard you were 3 feet past, just how gold should be. Tricky yet rewarding!Well done guys. I certainly will be retuning in the very near future to play again.Over all 7/10.

Booked a buggy with friend due to mobility issues only to turn up and find that buggies must remain on path. The course was well drained and firm so we stayed on path and went perpendicular onto fairway as required.Hhowever was warned twice with second warning being being very aggressive from groundsman threatening to 'ban us', with no interest in our mobility issues. Only giving 2 stars for decent course and recommend diversity training for staff !

Well kept golf course but service is shocking. Rude guy giving us the scorecard assuming we should know where they are despite never going before. About half way round another bloke approaches us saying we're holding up play, twice and that we need to keep up with the group on front. We was a walking 3 ball and the group of 2 in front was in a buggy. Group behind was never waiting for us either. 3 hours 40 we finished in and didnt see the group behind after the 13th. Completely baffling. Pint of Guinness after was shocking too. Gave it an extra as we still had a good round.

Terrible service. we have been to Blake?s several times now with buggies reserved for a couple of us who struggle, but twice now they have not reserved the buggies so four of us have had a wasted trip, incompetent staff.

Not for me this course. Not very well maintained or watered. Fairways rock solid, long rough and gur everywhere. Tee box?s scruffy and very far apart from each tee, make sure you get a buggy. Issue with that is not well sign posted to each hole, just a wind up of a course to be honest. I am local and play Theydon and toot hill weekly but couldn?t get a tee time on these so tried Blake?s even after only hearing bad things. They were true wouldn?t waste you time.

This course isn't in the best condition a lot of the bunkers are GUR and the greens are in a bad condition, you can see not much money is invested in the upkeep of the course

Thoroughly enjoyed the round today. Great course, friendly Marshall and relatively well kept. Club house could do with an update but apart from that very good!

Played it this morning and have to say was in fantastic condition, only slightly muddy in some areas which for Feb is fantastic, drainage and greens really above what?s accepted for this time of year, good track, interesting lay out, 3/4 par 5s gettable in 2 friendly members and staff. I?m a member at Woolston and to be honest Blake?s much much better today versus Woolston for course condition and playability. Well done Guys, Superb ????
