Really disappointed with Thai One tonight. We've ordered plenty of times in the past and the food has always been excellent and the portions sizes really good - so much so that we usually have left overs the next day.
We ordered via deliveroo tonight as they don't deliver direct, and was really looking forward to it but the portions were ridiculously small! We usually share a noodles and have lots left over, tonight I had to cook extra rice to make up for the lack of noodles.
My husband no48 off the menu which was a beef curry however it came with mushrooms. Nowhere on the menu did it say mushrooms were included in the curry, not ideal for someone who avoids mushrooms. All the other dishes stated mushrooms were included in the curry.
Overall disappointed this time round and unlikely to order again unfortunately.

Haven't been to Thai 1 for over 4 years as it wasn't very nice, But I'm glad to say it's fantastic now ,Best Thai restaurant in town

Food was great in taste, but was very small portions for the price. We spent more than we ever do at other Thai restaurants in Colchester and didn't even have leftovers to take home like we usually would.
£24.99 for tamarind prawns is steep, but thought we would try it as it was in the 'Large Plates' section. When It arrived, it was just 6 prawns. No advice was given when ordering as to the portion sizes or what comes with rice etc so it was a complete guessing game. We ordered 3 meals for 2 of us and left feeling unsatisfied.
The drinks were great, venue is nicely decorated but lacked atmosphere. Bright lights and sparse tables left it feeling a bit like we were there when they hadn't fully opened yet.

Well that was a very disappointing takeaway. The food was greasy and had very small portions for the cost. Would not go back unfortunately. I've eaten a lot of Thai food and this doesn't measure up.

Really enjoyed our visit to Thai One while passing through Colchester. I eat a lot of Thai food and was really impressed with what we found here. Great vegetarian options too. Staff were really friendly, prompt and we really enjoyed the food and visit. They were also very kind to our kids and dog who were welcome! Would definitely visit again.

Staff were amazing. Even got a few tips on ingredients for sauces. Chef came out and was lovely. Family run restaurant for 27 years. Food and flavours were mind blowing.

the food fantastic and service brilliant the large prawns were to die for and as my hubby loves really hot Thai they made it to his heat level best Thai food we have tasted and we eat Thai food a lot can't recommend this more fantastic and we miss Damien rip
