“Fantastic shoe-shopping experience last week. My daughter and I were looked after by Paris and Chase, who couldn’t have been more helpful. Competitive prices (the Birkenstocks were cheaper than on the Birkenstocks website) and they had the very latest Converse range that my daughter was looking for. Best shoe shop in Colchester with great staff. 10/10.”

“My husband and I came into your Colchester shop 3 weeks ago and my husband chose some tan Chelsea boots, we were very happy with the service we received however, after trying the shoes on at home he realised one of the boots was a bit too tight so we decided to go back and change them for the next size. We spoke to Jason and he was so helpful, they didn't have a bigger size in stock but arranged to have them delivered to us . A lovely young lady member of staff arranged it for us . Overall the staff were so helpful, nothing too much trouble. First class customer service!!”

“Really good stock inside and plenty of good sport options for good prices. Only problem I had here was in the junior section I was drawn to a pair of trainers for my daughter.the staff member said sorry they only go to a size 5 and directed me to more expensive trainers. Then I said the sticker inside the shoes say they go to a 6.5 to which his reply was they only stock 5s in the shop. So again I went back and a different colour pair of trainers above the original ones I spotted were size 6. I questioned the man again and he was like "that's weird, let me scan the ones you were looking at first" and low and behold they had a 6 in stock ?. If he scanned it to start with we could've avoided me turning into a Karen ?? make sure tou go with your gut guys!”

“The lady was brillant. I had picked up a pack of earrings and 4 pairs were missing. We found it seem to be the same for the other packs. She allowed me tonchose a further 2 pairs to make up a pack. Nothing was a problem”

“You know how when you go to a department store and it's heaving with people (some of obviously ill-er repute than others - get back in your box, peasant, and stop shopping in my Debenhams!), and everything's disorganised, and clothes have fallen to the ground, and the fluorescent lighting makes you look peaky, and the mirrors in the fitting rooms make you look fat, and - now that you mention it - why it is so fucking hot in this tiny cubicle and why does it smell like feet(?!), you have to remind yourself why you thought it was a good idea to shop in a department store in the first place? Well, Williams & Griffin is the exact opposite of that. It is pure class, people. With roots back to the 19th century (historical!) and awards like 'Best Independent Department Store of the Year' under its belt, Williams & Griffin is a cut above the rest. With attentive staff, spacious sales floors and well-selected merchandise (generally brands in the upper echelons of retail), it's always a pleasure to shop in. Definitely one of the premier shopping outlets in the area. If you're ever out in Colchester, it's certainly worth a mooch.”
