I have experienced various problems with this delivery office throughout the years. Last issue was just two days ago where they should have done their automatic redelivery attempt for two tracked 24 items and they didn't show up.I had to go down the office the next morning and luckily I found a fella who was willing to go out at the back and search for my items and so I was able to collect them. Not all people you find at the counter on a certain day would do that. They flat out refuse to do so and it's infuriating.Just earlier on, similar issue, but at the counter I found some lady with very short hair who was clearly not willing to do anything beyond the bare minimum. It was close to closing time and she was probably just looking forward to going home and she just fobbed me off without even trying to help. She even condescendingly talked to me saying that item had reached the office only that morning when I was trying to tell her that on Monday I was supposed to get the automatic redelivery too but it never happened. Didn't understand what I was telling her clearly. I'm not a moron. I knew all that. I know how things work at the delivery office.I asked if she could have a look at the back and check if my tracked 24 was back there as postie again marked my address as inaccessible this morning and she said no. She has no access. Funny how other people at the counter in other circumstances managed instead to go and check just fine for me. Must be they're special people then ? with special powers.So if you're lucky and get the helpful guys then they're very nice and I've always thanked them for their assistance but if you get this lady I got today for example or another oldish fella who's clearly permanently grumpy and there just to do the absolute minimum he can then you won't get any help with any issue that doesn't involve just picking up an item from the collection room. That's all they're willing to do. Anything else is too much effort.They refuse to check where the frames are or ask other colleagues there at the back to check anything.If other people working at the counter can do it there is no reason why these two for example cannot do it also. It's just that they're not interested in assisting the customer as much as possible.So, you lady who was there today from 4pm till 6pm on 31/01/2024 with very short hair let me tell you you left me so annoyed I burst out crying after getting out of the office and I got lost trying to get home because of the frustration I felt and also know that if the postie again doesn't come and do the automatic redelivery like on Monday (you just told me item will be redelivered tomorrow. We'll see about that.) tomorrow morning I'll be back at the office and demand to speak to a manager. I've had enough of this.I wasn't rude to you or raised my voice as I'm not that sort of person but I was absolutely fuming inside. You have no compassion and clearly 0 will to go the extra mile for the customer. I wasted £££ for a taxi journey there that got me absolutely nowhere. You absolutely could have done that check and it's a downright lie that you have no access.

Opening hours are absolutely pathetic - 8-10 on a Monday. Absolutely usually - I know they are separate from the post office now but clearly just as bad.

Absolutely useless, guaranteed delivery by 1. I waited in and then received an updated to say delivery attempted but nobody home(lies)Now have to re arrange for another day when I'm not at work. What's the point to pay for a service when they don't deliver. No wonder they have such a terrible rating.

Awful service. The same old same old national ?helpline? that leaves you listening to music for half an hour before being told they can?t help you. They then give out a fake local number that no longer works.

I know they are getting alot of bad press at the moment, but the guys at moorside really helped me out today. They went out of their way to help me send a parcel, even whilst being closed. Thanks again guys for the help :)

A pity I can't give it no stars. This place is the pits. Miserable staff who don't even pretend they want to help you. Just hopeless. plus loads of stupid rules and procedures. The quicker the Royal Mail disappears off the face of the planet, so much the better.

Absolutely terrible service posted letter on Monday 1st class ( that?s a rip off), it?s Friday and still not arrive. My aunt posted a letter Wednesday lunchtime and again still not arrived - no doubt it will turn up either tomorrow or Monday along with the rest of the weeks mail. Not going to bother with first class any more

What a surprise, parcel attempted Wednesday with a mark that it would be redelivered on Thursday which never happened. I go and collect today to be told most of the staff have quit. What a shower of rubbish this service has become.I hope that the decision is the close this service completely I certainly will be using alternative means to send items.

Just moved to the area. No post delivered for 2 weeks, including all the important mail I need now I've moved house. Went to this office to try and pick it up. The man on the desk (older gentleman) is the most miserable, contemptuous person I've ever dealt with. Obviously I can't provide photo ID with my new address on it because ironically THEY have had it for the last 2 weeks in their offices and haven't delivered it! Made no effort to try and help me, showed absolutely no sympathy to my situation, and did everything to fob me off (told me we dont deliver to your area, which I then called him out on because they do and my neighbours have picked up their post recently). Wouldn't tell me when the mail would be delivered or how I can get it. Even if you can't help me, at least have the decency to be kind or at least not horrible. And that was with me being NICE to him. Ruining the good reputation of Royal Mail. I will be complaining to RM directly. There's ways to deal with customers but this is just not on.

Sadly the opening times DO NOT marry up with Google so how exactly are you to collect your mail? Internet appently cant ever understand whats being entered and same goes for the calling system!?Eastgate Colchester are never dong the ties as stated via google!? Yo get there & no one helpful, you get greeted by few grumpy males whom grunt at you and do nohing tohelp even after explaining everythig ive just stated!? So i repeat WHAT IS THE PONT OF HAVING RED CARDS IF NO PERSON CAN GET TO THEIR MAIL??? Answers wantedPs- id not give any star but i cant leave review if i dont put anything.Also the female manger no good either as she try telling the handler of a phone call to WHERE ABOUTS my letters were that she can not pist but as soon i said id go to news papers i got my letter b4 7pm that same day... COLCHESTER PEN PUSHES NEED A DARN GOOD SHAKE UP AS SADLY SOMETHING NOT WORKING CORRECTLY. On a good note those whom post my post ARE VERY KIND AND HELPFUL AND DO THEIR BEST BUT ARE FED UP OF BEING SHOUTED AT IF TRY TO HELP THOSE OF THE PUBLIC!!

I appreciate people's feelings but it's a wonderful company to work for, and one of the oldest in the country. I feel there are a lot of postman who really care it's just that we are very very busy all the time. A lot of them are very nice about it, the lads, we are just understaffed and we have a lot to cope with. If you want to have a better postal service why not try being a postman. I can't be one full time because I don't drive. I can only help out here. We need people. Don't just talk about it apply to help. It is immensely satisfying socially. I was a newspaper delivery man before working here and it's lovely to see give an OAP a newspaper and have a chat with her and make her day. We play an enormously important role in that way, it's just that it's not just your mail it's an ever increasing flow of parcels and mail shots. Talk to postman face to face and know why and complain about the right things, we know the problems and we can't tell you online, gaging orders! I'm don't feel I'm saying too much just talk to us and know your postal system; we need more political input in my opinion and community involvement not just individuals complaining. I don't feel the competency of regular postman is to blame or anyone working here really. There is just so much mail, because of online stores etc that this place probably wasn't designed to cope with for example. I ask for your patience. I came in yesterday for my second week at work doing Christmas Casual for the 5th time I did 5 8 hrs shifts this week and I'm going in again at 10 till 3 today. I would have been in at 7am had it not been for the fact that I needed to solve a pay issue and couldn't afford the bus fare and had to wait until my disabled bus pass is valid at 09:30. I love helping out with it, but my disability means I can't drive the van.

Disappointingly bad,I appreciate that there are staffing issues, but the prices charges for the below standard service provided is not acceptable.What?s the point of offer 24 and 48 hour services when you cannot deliver within those times frames.Item posted Monday by tracked 48, still not delivered by Friday!Absolute joke.

It's no surprise they're losing clients to other companies. I do my best to steer clear of them whenever possible. Unfortunately, that's not always an option. I was eagerly awaiting a package, but when it finally arrived, I wasn't home. According to their new policy, they would 're-deliver the next day.' Adjusting my plans, I ensured I'd be home the next day, only to find that no one arrived... no notice, nothing. Frustrated, I decided to visit the post office the following day, assuming my package would be there.I arrived just before 4 pm, with a few people lining up behind me, eagerly awaiting the office to open. However, after about 30 minutes, there was still no sign of anyone to assist. We began asking passersby if they had any information. A lady who had just returned from a delivery informed us that she was clueless about the situation; there was nobody available to open the office that day. By that point, there were about 20 frustrated individuals outside.It's truly disappointing that Royal Mail has deteriorated to this extent, failing to provide satisfactory service to its clients. I highly advise against using their services.

The opening hours are getting less and royal mail app is rubbish....waited over three weeks for a signed delivery ask for it to be delivered toba post office twice and it wasn't delivered.........looking to go to the main depot tomorrow hopefully it might be there.....sooner the post office is privatise the better.??
