Hotel was basic but fine. Friendly staff, comfy room, god breakfast. Wifi cut out and was slow when it did work, this was premium wifi. Room was very cold when I entered and took three hours to get to a normal temperature. Shower had no hot water, warm and cold only.

Our stay at this hotel exceeded our expectations. Hotel and room were spotless. Staff were attentive and friendly. Bed and bedding were gorgeous to sleep in... only problem was we didn't want to get up to go to breakfast! Parking on site isn't enough so get there early as possible and is chargeable at £7 per day. Would definitely stay here again and would look for Premier Inns as a first choice when staying elsewhere in the UK.

Lovely hotel. Rooms lovely and clean. Bed was sooo comfy. Only down fall was that we booked 2 rooms and they was on different floors when we wanted the together. Also alittle pricy for a premier inn but our stay was lovely overall

We had a wonderful time with family. It was my sons birthday and the staff made such an amazing effort to make his day special, we can?t thank them enough and would definitely recommend this premier inn.

Stayed here previously when visiting family and did so again in August. Nice premier inn which is centrally located in Colchester, with a car park - payment was for every 24hr period which meant you could come and go as much as you wanted during this time. Slight hill to walk up to the High street or a short walk into Castle Park. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Had a standard room this time which was as expected in a premier inn - only disappointment for me was there was no bath - but the shower was new and really good

I stayed in a Premier Plus room for two nights while attending a friends' celebration. First time I had tried a Premier Plus room and it was a nice upgrade for a small amount extra- better decor, recently refurbished, and nice extras like a fridge with free water and premium teas and coffees. For my actual stay, it was quite mixed. The hotel is in a great location, very quiet outside with no road noise, and easy access to the park (and to my friend's house). My room had a nice view of the park. The area also felt very safe. The room itself was very clean and a good size. Staff were friendly and helpful although seemed very busy. Loads of plug sockets and USBs in the room and a good desk space and armchair. I also liked the light up makeup mirror area but found the stool was much too low so had to use it standing up. Sleep quality was mixed- the first night I was kept awake by a very loud and long phone conversation past midnight from the room next door. The next night I slept really well (but I was tired after a full day and evening out and broken sleep the night before). The bed was comfy but pillows were quite hard. I had some issue with the AC which seemed to be stuck on 19 degrees as the temperature adjust buttons didn't work. As it was a hot weekend I concluded this was better than it not working so couldn't be bothered to report this. Unlike other reviews I didn't find it particularly loud. There was also a missing seal on the glass shower door which meant the floor got very wet while showering. Parking is definitely also an issue here. I was dropped off and picked up by my partner and both times the car park was full. There is a small amount of road parking but it was also full most of the time.

The Colchester hotel is comfortable and in a good location but is totally let down by lack of parking space. The problem is that the car park is too small to accommodate all guests, and this is compounded by it being owned and looked after by another company. During our stay, the car park was full for the night by around 5.30 pm. There is an overflow car park but even though I got help from Reception, I couldn't get it to work! For this reason alone, we will not stay here again.

The hotel is good, can walk to town in 10 minutes time, access to the train station in a walkable distance. The hygiene is very good. Room is spacious for 3 persons. with air conditioning. breakfast is good in taste, and the restaurant environment is clean and tidy. staff are nice and friendly.

A lovely clean hotel in a great location. Room very spacious and comfortable with all amenities that you could require. Staff all very friendly, helpful and polite. Nothing was too much trouble. Great selection for breakfast and the restaurant is a nice environment.

Let me just say... I have stayed in 100's of hotels both budget and Luxury all over the world and the service, facilities, food, waitress, Hygiene and parking are the worst I have ever come across in my life at Premier Inn Colchester Town Centre - AVOID OR STAY at your own risk!!
Nobody on check in desk - throughout our 3 day stay
VERY RUDE and obnoxious waitress called Becky with long flowing hair like a horses back end and 2 inch long nails - TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE in my 25 years in Catering & Hospitality management. She refused to help me obtain clean towels or ask Housekeeping to clean my room, because I didn't ask her, I told her. WHO the hell does she think she is!! She obviously has 'delusions of grandeur' she also messed around in the breakfast restaurant joking with colleagues instead of helping customers. Smoking outside, whilst customers waited to be seated for over 10 minutes. Not refilling milk jugs because they were too busy being totally unprofessional. This HOTEL with this member of staff equals NIGHTMARE. Also...

Bar - Only opens after 6pm - blamed on no staff ( what use is that to guests after a 6 hour journey)
Toaster machines - completely useless, waited over 7 minutes to toast two pieces of bread. Bacon, under cooked. No individual milk jugs , I had to ask every morning so I could have milk on the table and not keep touching the same large and only milk jug that was for cereals.
I was so mad at myself, for choosing this hotel, it affected my sleep.
Prem plus rooms - not worth the extra cost.
My 3 days stay in Colchester, totally ruined because of this hotel and its pathetic staff member. I will be complaining at the highest level until I receive a satisfactory explanation and a refund. Tried to find a competent member of staff to talk too, their weren't any!! So, I had to drive to another Premier Inn to complain and ask if they could provide clean towels for my stay.
On the last morning I found a woman who said she was a deputy manager, and she would be back shortly as she needed to speak to housekeeping, guess what... she never came back and I waited an hour, before having to leave. An absolute disaster is all I can say about this place, never again! UPDATE: 5 WEEKS later, I have still not heard anything from Premier Inn, even after an official complaint through their website about the good night sleep Guarantee, I have a ref number but I think, the fact they ignore their customers, proves a point about what they think of customer service and how to deal with complaints. SHOCKINGLY BAD!!!!!

Thanks to the team we had a fantastic weekend. A group of 12 friends from far and near, different ages and different needs, all accommodated with kindness and patience(!). Highly recommended for anyone visiting the sites. Near the park and walking distance to town. So helpful thank you

All I can say is what I have experienced during this week. LOVELY staff beyond belief. Friendly, helpful and fun.
The room is clean, spacious and has all that I need.
