Great location, friendly helpful staff, nice quiet room. Just perfect for me.Car parking is limited but you can use the NCP car park across the road as an overflow.Rooms: Beds are super comfortable. Some rooms are shower only, some have baths.Nearby activities: Situated on the edge of Castle Park which is nice for a walk. Colchester Castle worth a visit.

I am very annoyed with my service I have recieved at the restaurant. I waited 55mins to get food, 32mins for someone to check on me. Cmon man, I know there is only 2 at the back and front but was it really that busy? I asked for custard and still got ice cream. Then you ask me do I want a drink. Here I'm thinking it's compensation but no can't even give me a bottle of water. An it happened twice.Otherwise hotel wise. I understand that you want to minimize cleaning, but I do believe hotel should attempt to clean the room rather than us always having to constantly ask them to clean it. Otherthan that a nice room and shower facilities, you can help yourself to tea facilities in the main lobbyParking is £7/ night where you have to pay at the end, sucks that's the staff could've told me at the beginning rather than saying "don't worry we sort it".Location wise is really nice, right beside the castle Park, at the end of the road are some cafe and 5-10min into the city centre and a 20min walk to the station.

Brilliant hotel for disabled guests plenty of room for my wheelchair and great bathroom facilities disabled toilet and a little shower seat makes it possible for people who cannot walgreat all u care eat breakfast very good value nice friendly service this comes highly recommended especially for people visiting Colchester zoo idea location for this. We had a thoroughly good time there for ourmini break

It was okay, the fire alarm did go off just past midnight due to some kids coming in and hitting it... and the staff apologised for what had happened and we got free unlimited breakfast which was nice of them. The breakfast had a good range of products and drinks?Rooms: The room was an average size, I wish I had a room with a bath tub, but other than that the room was great.Walkability: You have the colchester Park and castle within a couple minutes walk, you also have the high street, which is 5-10 minutes from the hotel and you also have a range of corner shops and take aways just down the road.

Simply terrible. Had a Premier Plus room which didn?t have working AC nor a ?comfortable armchair? as advertised online. The manager (Jessica) then brought me a conference room chair, and rudely said ?well it?s a chair isn?t it??. That is not the point. I was subsequently moved into a different room and told that the initial room was not suitable to be a Premier Plus room in the first place.Fire alarm went off 3 nights in a row - young kids running in the lobby at night and setting it off. Disrupted sleep x3.No receptionists and almost impossible to find staff working at any time of day. Jessica tried to argue with us in front of other customers whilst checking in, very unprofessional and awful customer service skills (non-existent). She basically had a defensive answer to every question we asked her, and didn?t try to resolve problems or take any responsibility, claiming that ?it?s not my building?, even though she is the manager and she is responsible for it. She clearly has a deep attitudinal problem which needs help, not suitable to work in hospitality.Kev, on the other hand, was really proactive and helpful, so thanks Kev.
