Last night my wife and I ordered a collection for 6:20 pm and when we went to the restaurant at 6:18 pm, first a waiter said that our food was on the grill and would be ready in two minutes and my wife and I went out and came back 5 minutes later and another waiter said that our food would be ready in 5 minutes, we continued to wait and after 5 minutes when we asked the waiter he said that it would be ready in 2 minutes. We waited patiently again and it was 6:45 and when we asked the waiter again, they asked us for our order number and entered it into the system, talked among themselves, found the receipt of the food in the system, finally printed it and gave it to the grill and told us that your food was on the grill, but we understood that they had never cooked the food and when we insistently asked, they started to cook it. Then a woman in a red shirt, probably the manager, told us that the kitchen was busy and did not even apologize, if they had told us that the kitchen was busy and would be ready in 20 minutes or if they had informed us on the system that the restaurant was busy, there would have been absolutely no problem, but the manager or chef in the red shirt decided to argue with us instead of apologizing, and then when they finally started to make our food, the manager shamelessly said hello my love how are you in front of us to other customers and continued his "service" with a smile.
And then they told us your order was ready and a waiter checked all our orders before packing but there was a problem they were all the wrong order and the order was in our name. And they corrected our orders again and we finally got our food. We are all human beings and I work as an assistant manager in a restaurant, I am the person who will understand their situation best, but I am commenting on a restaurant for the first time in my life to show how much damage the woman in the red shirt has done to the business and her attitude towards us, I am writing this to correct this person and her attitude, which is a huge damage to the nando's company, if you are going to order, please check the status of the restaurant and choose to be patient before going, especially if that woman in the red shirt is there. Thank you and I will never come again and I will not recommend it to anyone

The Nando?s staff were incredibly attentive and nice. We also received a lovely early Christmas present of 10 wings.

Don't usually leave reviews but had to in this case because of Elliot. What a legend - such a helpful and polite guy. Thank you! (Dined in 08/12, at 1600)

Nando?s in Colchester offers a reliably vibrant dining experience with a friendly, laid-back atmosphere. Known for its Afro-Portuguese peri-peri chicken, the restaurant consistently serves flavorful, succulent chicken with a perfect blend of spices, customizable to various heat levels. The sides, like the peri-peri chips and garlic bread, pair well and add a hearty touch to meals.
Service was quick and attentive, it can get busier during peak times, occasionally slowing things down. The ambiance is casual with a warm decor that aligns with Nando?s upbeat vibe. It?s a great spot for casual dinners, quick lunches, and group gatherings, especially if you?re after something more flavorful than typical fast food. A solid choice for peri-peri fans in Colchester!

Love coming to Nandos. I had to lea e a review in regards to how good the staff are here. They really what make co.ing here great. A big shout out to Michelle, who is working the sunday shift 14/10/2024. I had an issue with lifestyle vouchers that ended up with ten long codes that Michelle had to type in. Michelle did it with grace and a great sense of humour.

We visited yesterday and this was sadly the worst nandos experience we have had, and we have nandos every week. Firstly, the restaurant has debris over the floor and empty tables, staff took ages to serve us, the restaurant was filled with smoke from what we think was burnt garlic bread and EVERYONE was coughing for about 10 minutes, our server walked away when we ordered wine and beer, our food took about 30 minutes to come and was cold. HOWEVER the saviour of the evening was Elliot! He didn't even have a name badge, his simply said Trainee! Elliot was welcoming, apologetic, polite and professional and was literally running the place single handed whilst all other staff remained behind the counter. I hope he is a Trainee manager and he certainly has the correct skill set. For the love of God give him a payrise and his own name badge! Elliot you are a shining star in this establishment and should be proud of yourself, you will go far!

Was made to wait 10 minutes to be seated when there was at least half a dozen empty tables then once I went to order I was refused payment on a gift card, terrible experience won't be back.

We brought an elderly uncle from overseas (who was tired of pie and mash or fish and chips) to spice up his visit to England: he might not walk as well as he once did, but he got along peri-peri nicely!
Wheelchair accessibility: We dropped off our uncle out the front and he made his way in well enough: although he can walk, steps are now a challenge, but he found this Nandos accessible enough.
